After you watch the video answer the following questions. Use any voice
recording software to record your answers and send the file as evidence.

Use mixed conditional sentences (at least 4 examples), the idioms, vocabulary
and ideas about flexibility and adaptability studied in this learning activity (at least
8 words from the vocabulary). Remember to use connectors and punctuation.
What does Ashley do for a living?
She is a senior at the University of Northern Iowa, she studies general communication.

How does her condition affect her daily activities and how does she deal with
it?
She find it difficult to write fast, also because of the extreme weather it takes more time to go to classes because of
the snow. Also she find it annoying that people are complaining to her.

What is her attitude towards life? Does she feel disabled from certain activities?

Her attitude is so positive, she doesn't feel decayed, she goes with the flow and doesn't feel less than
other people, she is a really strong woman and she's always going forward and seems happy overall.
She would like to know how it feels to run and she think is something she would love to do. If she didn't have this
disability, she would enjoy to run and other things that she can't do, but at the same time I think people don't know
what they have until they lose it so we see things like that so normal and nothing special at all, so at the same time
if she didn't have that disability she wouldn't value those kind of things and value everything else in general.

How would your life be different if you were handicapped and had to use a
wheelchair? What would be different for you? (Use mixed conditionals in the
answer).

If I was handicapped, I wouldn't be able to do a lot of things that I like and it would take a lot of time to adapt and I
would love to walk and run again, also If I were disabled, people would see me weird and feel sorry for me, If I were
in a wheelchair I would need a lot of help for many things, and if I were handicapped my self-esteem would be
affected and I definitely would need time to deal with it.

How do you react when you have to interact with a handicapped person?

I help them in everything they need, I know that a lot of people just get cold feet when they are close to them, but I
always treat exactly the same like anyone else but paying more attention if they need something.

How can you contribute to improve the life of handicapped people?

I think we can contribute to them just treating them like they want us to treat them, like
anyone else, without complaining or feel sorry for them and helping them, they always
go to the extra mile to do anything, if people doesn't treat them like if they were a
weird thing instead of what they are, an human being like all of us, they would be way
more happier
