ABSTRACT
This study is all about making an
alternative cork board out of freshly
fallen leaves. It will also determine the
durability and elasticity of the finished
product. The samples will be taken
from Indian Almond (Terminalia
Catappa) leaves locally known as
“Talisay leaves”. The preparation
requires the assembly of silkscreen on
the wooden frame, collection of fallen
leaves, mechanical pulping of leaves
using a blender, then molding the pulp
into thuck paper boards after which
drying is done using a blower and left
to dry under the sun for hours. Finally,
an experiment is conducted to
determine the degree of durability and
elasticity of the product. It is
concluded that Indian Almond
(Terminalia Catappa) leaves have all
the proportions appropriate to be used
as an alternative for cork boards. It is
also concluded taht there is a
significant difference in the durability
and elasticity of the product depending
on the amount of extract used.
INTRODUCTION

Al, 2000). But with progress
and modernization, comes a
threat to various environmental
issues. One of the biggest
issues nowadays is the large
collection of wastes dumps
sites (Lemann, 2008). Some of
these wastes are fallen leaves,
which are nature-generated
(Cichosnki et. Al., 1993.)
Cork boards are one of
the most functional pieces for
home and office use. They are
above our desk, in boards
rooms, in hallways and even
next to office phones. They’re
known to be great for
organization and keeping all
your thoughts in one place. We
pin up our grocery list, to-do
lists, doctor’s appointments or
game practices and somewhere
in there we put up some of the
emergency phone numbers
needed in case of emergency.
METHODOLOGY

use experimental research and after
only with control design was employed
in the entire experimentation. We used
dried Terminalia Catappa (Indian
almond) leaves for our study, First is
that we gathered the dried almond
leaves and used the oven to make sure
that our almond leaves gets really dry
so that we can blend the leaves we
separated it by kilo/s (1kg, 2kg, 3kg)
and cooked 250 ml of cornstarch ‘til it
gets a sticky figure, get one big basin
and mix the almond leaves together
with the cooked cornstarch, we also
added 30ml of elmer’s glue to make
sure that it gets sticky and will not
easily break, after mixing we placed it
in the flat surface under the heat of the
sun.
