Dealing with the unstoppable insurgency in the Philippines

Difference in race, cultures and beliefs, people have different perspectives about how should
a society be managed. Insurgency is formed when a group of people formed an organization to
oppose and revolt against its state's government. They are people who fight for their beliefs and
are really committed in their group. They are influenced by communism and activism aiming to
overthow the Philippine government because they want the working class to led the country and
also to expel the influence of U.S. in the Philippines thus promoting and fighting for their
ideologies to improve the society as they think it should be.

Communist Party of the Philippines–New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) on their beginning

period was composed of activist seeking for improved society and now composed of members
both devoted and recruited or even kidnapped childrens. They are recruiting professionals, people
who have potentials in fighting skills and even tribe members who could contribute to their
organization. Worst thing is that they even kidnapping children to train them to be its soldiers. As
for their strategies in promoting their ideology, peace talk with government as President Duterte
described was ineffective because they are not cooperating enough and not committed. Instead,
they are causing harmness and violence in difference areas of the Philippines which affects many
Filipinos. They are having conspiracy which could be a strong basis that they are a terrorist group.

Under International humanitarian law, CPP-NPA is not considered as belligerent because

althought they are seeking for power and causing violences, their aim is for improvement of the
Philippines itself. Thus, not affecting internationally. They might assert that status if they would
act like an ISIS group causing violence all around the world and expanding its power worldwide.
But fortunately, CPP-NPA focus on their goal to overthrow the government of the Philippines and
establish a new form of government as they want to.

Being a group causing violence and threats to the Philippines, their rebellious way of
expressing themselves harm the territory of the Philippines and its inhabitants. Their violent
activities such as bombing certain places or mass shooting activities caused huge lost of innocent
lives and infrastructures in the philippines. When it comes to the negotiation with government,
government side are having a hard time dealig with CPP-NPA because they don't act peacefully
and even recruiting childrens. That's why, they initiated to talk about issues such as peace and
security for their awareness in this kind of situations so that they wouldn't be brainwashed by
NPAs. Government also can't endures their violent activities bacause a destructions of
infrastructures cost a lot to reconstruct and recover its economic rate that's why President Duterte
chose to end peace talk with CPP-NPA because it's not working.
 I recommend to deal this situations, it is a good thing to really educate children about the
possible effects of war and violence. It will also be good if the government will increase the
capasity of its military forces to fight against CPP-NPA, Philippines could also adopt Japanese
way of banning or limiting guns in the Philippines where a person can only acquire license
through process that Japan is implementing to avoid violence, government could also entertain the
changes CPP-NPA is negotiating with if that will be good not for themselves but for the
Philippines because CPP-NPA also aim for am improved Philippines. But I think education is
really a must to prevent this kind of situations in future generations. We should solve this problem
for future generation for them to not experience violences that we have witnessed or even
experienced.
