This packet enables users to schedule a backup of important files when the
NSA is not busy (such as during the night or on weekends). For example,
users can do daily backups of important individual files or folders, and a
weekly general archive. Save the backup to another location so that files are
safe even if the original RAID or NSA fails.

3.10 eMule
eMule is a program for downloading and sharing all types of files and one of
the biggest and most reliable peer-to-peer file sharing clients around the world.
It is often used by clients looking for extremely rare content. The distinguishing
features of eMule are the direct exchange of sources between clients nodes,
fast recovery of corrupted downloads, and the use of a credit system to reward
frequent uploaders.
Another characteristic of eMule is that the more people that are downloading
the file, the faster the speed becomes.
Among other aspects, the fact that eMule, one of the most popular P2P client
program available, is both open source and free.

3.11 DyDNS
Dynamic DNS points an easy to remember hostname to a dynamic IP address.
If an NSA325v2 is set up with a dynamic IP address behind a router, a host
name can be configured on the NSA (e.g., NSA325v2@zyxel.com). When users
are outside and want to access the NSA, they can log in using the hostname
NSA325v2@zyxel.com in case they forget or do not know the IP address of the
unit.

3.15 PHP-MySQL-phpMyAdmin
PHP
Known as the "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor," PHP is a widely used computer
programming language. It is used to create dynamic Web pages, or Web pages that
update and display information depending on the user's activity. PHP is mainly a
server side language, allowing it to process Web pages faster and easier, providing a
better user experience.

MySQL
MySQL is a database management system. A database is a structured collection of
data. It may be anything from a simple shopping list to a picture gallery or the vast
amounts of information in a corporate network. To add, access, and process data
stored in a computer database, users need a database management system such as
MySQL Server. Since computers are very good at handling large amounts of data,
database management systems play a central role in computing, as standalone
utilities, or as parts of other applications.

phpMyAdmin
phpMyAdmin is a free software tool written in PHP, intended to handle the
administration of MySQL over the Web. It supports a wide range of operations on
MySQL, MariaDB and Drizzle. Frequently used operations (managing databases,
tables, columns, relations, indexes, users, permissions, etc.) can be performed via the
user interface, while still having the ability to directly execute any SQL statement.

3.17 Syslog Server
Syslog is a widely used method for message logging, and the more complex
part comes in with what is logged. Syslog messages often contain important
details about the health of a computer system, such as when a hard drive fills up,
when someone logs in, when an application crashes, etc. Because of this,
monitoring the messages in syslog files is an important part of managing a
system.
One of the biggest challenges with Syslog is the volume of data generated;
therefore, the Syslog Server is a great way to store logs from multiple sources
into a single location.
STEPS
Log into the NAS using NAS Starter Utility or a Web browser.
Click System Setting > Firmware/Packages > Package.
Click Retrieve List From Internet, select the Syslog package from the
table and then click the Install/Upgrade button (Figure 268).

4. Dropbox
Dropbox provides a files backup service. You create an account for
Dropbox (https://www.dropbox.com), Dropbox will give you 2GB of storage
for your files backup. The NSA325 v2 will automatically download the files
from the Dropbox server.
Configuration Procedure:
Enter the username and password
Enable Dropbox service.
Configure the Dropbox account information.
Link your NSA325 v2 with your Dropbox account.
On the NSU main page, login to the Dropbox service for NSA325 v2, go to
Applications > Dropbox. Then, enable the Dropbox service.

password.
After you enable the Dropbox service, the browser is going to link to the Dropbox
website. Meanwhile, please make sure that you have the Dropbox account
information.
After configuring the account information, the system will notify you about the
connection to Dropbox.
In the following popup browser, you need to authorize the connection between your
account and your NSA325 v2.
You can check the service status in the NSA325 v2 under Applications > Dropbox.
In this case, we can see the storage status in your Dropbox account.
127
The NSA connects to Dropbox and copies files in the Drop2NAS folder to the NSA’s
admin\Dropbox\FromDropbox folder, and then empties the Drop2NAS folder.
The NSA initiates connections to the Dropbox server so you do not need to
configure rules on a firewall in front of the NSA to allow access to the NSA.
When your PC has installed Dropbox, you can upload files to the Drop2NAS folder,
and then NSA will get files from the Dropbox server.
Note: Do not delete the NAS token file as it is needed for your NSA to work
with the Dropbox
Account.

Make sure you enable ports 514 and 601 for TCP and UDP of firewall settings on
your gateway. In addition, check the client also uses port 514 or port 601 for

Please check the path of the target share that you entered in the Share Name
field for the backup. Make sure the name is not beginning with a forward slash “/”.
37. Why can’t I back up/restore files to/from the set remote target folder?
Currently the NSA325v2 only supports remote Samba shares. If the set remote
target share uses NFS (Network File System) as file sharing protocol, the
NSA325v2 can neither detect it nor perform backup and restore tasks.
38. Why did I fail to access my NSA325v2 behind a router using its host
name?
DynDNS uses port 80 for the service. Please make sure that your router does
not use port 80 for any other service, for example HTTP service.
154
If it does, please change the port setting.
39. I have entered my Gmail address and the SMTP server. Why can I still
not get any log reports in my e-mail?

watched folder list on the NAS, those pictures will not be automatically uploaded
to Flickr.
c. Set your desired pixel sizes for thumbnail size (e.g. 600 pixels) and for
resized image size (e.g. 1000 pixels).
160
d. After the pixel settingis done, you can preview the photos with larger size.
161
47. How to limit guests to see the photos in Gallery?
a. Log into Gallery as administrator. Select Album options > Edit permissions.
b. The Edit Permissions screen appears, where you can set the permissions
for everyone and for registered users only.
c. If you deny all permissions for everybody, the following screen displays when
a guest attempts to log into Gallery.
48. A user forgot the password to log into Gallery. How can the
administrator help him?
The administrator can help reset his password as the following steps:
a. Log in as administrator.
162
b. Select Users/Groups. Find the user account and reset the password for him.
Step 1: Select the Config button ( ) on the top-right corner of the screen.

Yes, you can download FTP files using pyLoad on the NAS.
165
However, you cannot view the downloaded files directly in pyLoad because an
error message displays when you do so. To view the downloaded files, please
follow the steps below:
166
Step 2: You can see the FTP files downloaded completely in pyLoad. Click a
file’s file name to open the file.
51. Where can a user find the downloaded files from Transmission on the
NAS?
52. How can a user change the download/upload rate with Transmission?
167
Please refer to the figure below.
54. Can I limit a guest user’s storage space and the number of share groups
in ownCloud?
168
b. Create a user account and a group for the guest.
d. Select how much storage space to allocate to the user (1.3 GB in this
example).
e. Select admin > Users to configure the sharing settings for the user.
169
f. Select if you allow the user to share with anyone or only users in the same
groups.
