Developer Study Guide

This study guide is intended to provide you with information to aid you in preparing to take
the Sage X3 Certified Implementer Developer exam. Passing the exam is the only
requirement to achieve your Sage certifications.

The Sage X3 Certified Implementer Developer Certification is designed for the Certified
Developer; however, not restricted to this group. Certified Developers are responsible for
the installation of Sage X3 and the development of applications integrating with Sage X3
using the Sage X3 language, development modes, development dictionary, architecture
and user interface, and basic development concepts.

1.1 Before taking the exam


Before taking the exam, it is important you take time to prepare and study for the exam.
To aid you in the preparation and study process, it is recommended you complete the
following steps.

Recommended Steps

 Log into Sage University and locate the Sage X3 Certified Implementer Developer learning path

 Follow the recommended optional training including viewing the Sage X3 Getting Started eLearning
course and attending the Common Tools, Install and Patching, System Administrator, and
Development Basics online courses

 Review and study any training curriculum provided by attending the recommended training
(Special Note: You do not have access to the training curriculum without attending the recommended
courses)

 Use the Sage X3 solution to Practice! Practice! Practice!

 Register for and take the sample exam

 Register for the Sage X3 Certified Implementer Developer exam (no more than 30 days before
intended exam date)

 On exam day, ensure you are in a quite area with no distractions and have a reliable internet
connection

1.2.1 Exam Content


The Sage X3 Certified Implementer Developer exam measures your experience and
capabilities of installing and developing an integration with Sage X3 by understanding
users and security, database management, general parameters, the different
development modes, architecture and user interface, development dictionary, the Sage
X3 language and basic development concepts necessary for successfully developing an
integration with Sage X3.

The sample exam gives you an opportunity to practice your knowledge before attempting
the Sage X3 Certified Implementer Developer exam. You are asked a limited number of
questions but are given 2 opportunities to take the same exam.
