SUBJECT: Recognition of Battalion Uniform Policy

1.Purpose: To establish standard operating procedures for authorized uniform wear of


Cadets within the Thunder Battalion.

2. Policy: Cadets are only authorized to wear the following uniforms to any GCU ROTC
events. Army Physical Fitness Uniform (APFU), Operational Camouflage Uniform
(OCP), Army Combat Uniform (ACU) until FY 2019, or Army Service Uniform (ASU);
Cadets will wear these uniforms only if they have been sworn through the Army ROTC
contracting process/ Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) unless approved by
GCU ROTC Commander. All uniforms will be worn in accordance with AR 670-1
including the male and female hygiene/ grooming standard.

3.Cadets who have not sworn in will be required to wear the authorized
participating uniforms in compliance will the Army uniforms. The authorized uniforms
are as follows: Duty Uniform (purple GCU ROTC polo, Khaki colored slack/pants, black
shoes and black belt) Summer PT uniform (grey ROTC t-shirt, black shorts, black or
white ankle or crew socks, and PT belt), Winter PT uniform (summer PT uniform, grey
or black hoodie/sweat shirt, black jogging pants/sweat pants, PT belts, and black or
grey beanie and gloves). No logos showing on winter PT uniforms. All uniforms will be
worn in accordance with AR 670-1 including the male and female hygiene/ grooming
standard.

4. The C/CSM has the authority to approve or deny changes to the uniform with
approval from cadet leadership and Cadre.

5. Cadets failing to comply with the wear of these uniforms will be sent to change and
not allowed to participate in any training or meetings until in proper uniform. Further
failure of wearing the uniform will result in 3 negative offenses including;
a) 1st offense warning,
b) 2nd offense 1 full page essay explaining the importance of wearing the proper
uniform in accordance with AR 670-1 standard.
c) 3rd offense negative counseling and will be added to the cadets counseling
packet.

6. All cadets with more than the appropriated offenses (3) on any policy will be
recommended for disenrollment and dropped from the program.
