POLICE LOGISTICS DEPARTMENT

Introduction

The Police Logistics Department (PLD) was established on 1 November 1981


with the mission to provide timely mission-centric capabilities for the
Singapore Police Force (SPF). PLD is responsible for the acquisition,
distribution, maintenance and disposal of non-ICT equipment and
accoutrement, armament, automotive and infrastructures.

Our Roles & Functions

PLD is organised into 4 asset groups and 4 staff units to support PLD
Directorate who provides strategic guidance and vision to PLD and is
responsible for the overall logistics procurement and systems in the SPF.

PLD Staff Units

 Force Capability & Planning Division (FCPD)


FCPD is responsible for the strategic planning and organisational
development of PLD, including resource management, governance,
innovation and capability development.
 Manpower & Corporate Services Division (MCSD)
MCSD develops the potential of SPF Logisticians through effective
manpower management and quality training programmes. It also
champions environmentally friendly practices in SPF.
 Logistics Operations Division (LOD)
LOD is in charge of the operational logistics planning for major
operations and emergencies, including preparation for National
Emergency. It works closely with PLD asset groups and operational
users to develop logistics support plans to ensure the timely
provisioning of logistics support during an operation. It also ensures the
readiness of logistical systems and equipment in SPF by developing
doctrines and conducting inspections at frontline units.
 DHQ Implementation Team
The DHQ Implementation Team is responsible for integrating user
requirements and developing the operational infrastructure in new
police DHQs in the SPF. Providing staff guidance on DHQ project
management, the team coordinates and works closely with internal and
external project stakeholders to ensure the timely planning, design,
construction and operationalisation of the DHQs.
PLD Asset Groups

 Automotive Engineering & Management Division (AEMD)


AEMD oversees SPF’s automotive requirements and it works closely
with users to develop technical requirements according to users’
concept of operations. It is responsible for the procurement and
maintenance of vehicles in the SPF.
 Force Armament Base (FAB)
FAB is responsible for the procurement of all armaments and
ammunition in SPF. It also serves as the technical advisor to other
Home Team agencies on armaments, ammunition and armoury-related
issues.
 Infrastructure Development & Management Division (IDMD)
IDMD is the staff authority on new SPF buildings and existing
infrastructure, including the development, upgrading and life cycle
management of SPF infrastructural assets.
 Police Logistics Base (PLB)
PLB is responsible for the procurement and maintenance of SPF’s
Uniform and non-ICT, non-marine related operational equipment. PLB
is the staff authority for the management of found properties handed
over to Police by members of public, event logistics and general stores
in SPF.
