Out of all the extravagant moments,
the royal applause of the people, and
the short-span flickering lights on the
sky. There must be one memorable
moment of the night. A moment that
can haunt you for the rest of your life.
There. Must. Be.
But for a person who’s not well
driven to attend, any scenarios are
considered insignificant. I attended
the prom for the reason that it’s for
the sake of my grades. I should’ve
ditch this prom. I love to shout that
sentence. I want all of them to know.
But when I entered the venue –
most of the people are enjoying
every moment, settling every
dance, and living the most of their
lives. I understand. I should not
spread any negativity. I want their
night to be their night they waited
for a year. I keep myself quiet. I
hide myself from the publics’ eye.
I’ve went outside to feel the
ambience of the old town, I certainly
knew that this place was not as it
is ‘bout a year ago. I miss my old
classmates. Their ecstatic faces,
their sense of pride and motivation,
and also the memories we had
embraced. Those we’re the thoughts
you wish you can experience again.
But on a certain pavement, at the
Rizal monument, there was this
person, who’s wearing a sparkling,
slick gold finished gown perfectly
fit for her smile and posture.
I smiled perfectly.
Yet another person had appeared
- This man I certainly knew
for years, old yet never goes
out of style, our best friend.
My smile widened.
I thought that was the conclusion of
the scene, but again, old faces arrived
to show up on a positive and brightly
manner. “This is a moment”, I uttered.
A memorable one. My Rizal Family.
I spent most of my time with them,
eating snacks, capturing photos,
and also living our forgotten
dreams. An epic yet solemn date.
Again, I questioned myself. What is
the most memorable moment of my
prom? I look upon the sky while
writing this. Thinking there must be.
And yes. Enjoying the night
with them, that must be.
