Why do you wish to attend your chosen course and the LSE-PKU Summer School?

The LSE-PKU Summer School is an opportunity to immerse myself in two weeks of engaging discussions and learning
from exemplary faculty at two of the world’s leading universities. This combined with an international peer group
and the opportunity to learn about the Middle Kingdom is what attracts me to the program.

As an undergraduate student of Economics who was awarded the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Foundation
Scholarship in 2013, I immensely enjoyed subjects ranging from global macroeconomics to the history of India’s
economic transition. My graduate degree in finance and management from one of India’s top-ranked institutions
helped me hone my qualitative and quantitative skills necessary for solving today’s most pressing problems in
business. My current role as a Manager in the global headquarters of the world’s second-biggest money transfer
player allows me to actively influence strategy taking into account the disruption caused in financial markets by
emerging technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence etc.

Through ‘Corporate Finance in a Global World: Challenges and opportunities’, I aim to stretch the learnings in the
above roles to a truly global context. During the two-week program, I look forward to a deeper understanding on
corporate financial decision-making across the globe with a focus on the Asian economies. As an individual who
continuously strives to integrate multiple perspectives into a shared vision, I believe the summer school is a
tremendous opportunity to meet and understand opinions from Dr.Moqi Xu and peers about the evolving role of
finance in the 21st century.
