“Global Warming Speech”

Good morning to my respected teachers and dear friends.

I would like to speech on the Global Warming at this occasion. Global
warming is a gradual process of heating of earth’s surface and whole
environment including oceans, ice caps, etc. The global rise in
atmospheric temperature has been clearly noticed in the recent years.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency, in the past century
there is increase in the earth’s surface average temperature by around 1.4
degree Fahrenheit. It has also been estimated that global temperature
may increase by another 2 to 11.5 degrees Fahrenheit in the next century.
There are many causes of the global warming, some are natural causes
and some are human made causes. The most important cause of global
warming is greenhouse gases which are generated by some natural
processes as well as human activities. The increase in the level of green
house gases has been seen in the 20 th century because of the increasing
population, economy and use of energy.. Green houses gases get
collected in to the atmosphere and form a cover around the Earth which
again absorbs hot sun rays and make this earth a burning earth. The
absorbed heat remains in the lower circle of biosphere and enhances the
temperature level.
Another cause of global warming is ozone depletion means declination
of ozone layer over Antarctica. Ozone layer is declining day by day by
increasing release of chlorofluorocarbon gas. It is a human generated
cause of global warming. Chlorofluorocarbon gas is used at many places
as aerosol propellants in the industrial cleaning fluids and in the
refrigerators, the gradual release of which causes declination to the
ozone layer in the atmosphere.
Ozone layer causes protection to the earth surface by inhibiting the
harmful sun rays to coming to the earth. However, gradually declining
ozone layer is the big indication of increasing global warming of the
earth surface.
Global warming causes lot of climate changes in the atmosphere such as
increasing summer season, decreasing winter season, increasing
temperature, changes in air circulation patterns, jet stream, rain without
season, melting ice caps, declining ozone layer, occurrence of heavy
storms, cyclones, flood, drought, and so many effects. Global warming
causes natural fires which may wipe out whole forests. Continuous rise
in the earth temperature affects agricultural crops, forests, marine life
and life growth on the earth. It cannot be solved by the effort of only one
country, it needs global effort of all countries to reduces its effects and
completely eliminate it.
There are several things we can do to deal with global warming. One
answer is to stop making C02. We can do this by switching from oil,
coal and gas to renewable energy. By Replacing just 1 incandescent
light bulb with 1 compact florescent bulb saves about 150 pounds of
carbon dioxide per year . If every American household replaced just
5 high-use incandescent bulbs with compact florescent lights we'd
collectively save more than $8 billion each year in energy costs and
we would prevent the greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions
from nearly 10 million cars.
A second solution is to plant more trees. Trees absorb C02 and produce
oxygen, which is not a greenhouse gas. A third idea is to use less energy
and recycle more products. If we use less energy and are more
environmentally friendly, the earth’s temperature may not rise too much.
I conclude my speech with this Stephen Hawking quote ” Twenty-five
years ago people could be excused for not knowing much, or doing
much, about climate change. Today we have no excuse. No more can it
be dismissed as science fiction; we are already feeling the effects.””
Thank You
Global warming isn't a prediction. It is happening.
(James Hansen)

The warnings about global warming have been extremely clear for a
long time. We are facing a global climate crisis. It is deepening. We
are entering a period of consequences.

AL GORE,

Our glaciers are melting due to global warming, I'm worried for
Pakistan's marine resources after next thousand years – Dr.A.Q khan.

The truth is, as most of us know, that global warming is real

and humans are major contributors, mainly because we
wastefully burn fossil fuels.( David Suzuki)

Global warming is too serious for the world any longer to ignore its
danger or split into opposing factions on it.
