Round 1: It was based on Aptitude which had two parts:

1) Verbal Reasoning - It had 9 small passages with 5 parts/questions each, so total 45

questions and 25 minutes of time to attempt all. There was no negative marking. We
would have to read each answer and see if it directly infers from the passage or not.
Accordingly, we had to choose True, False and can’t say.

2) Data Interpretation - There were 35 questions and 35 minutes of time. I felt the
questions were easy (based on graphs, tables and pie-charts) but I was able to do 28/35
in 35 minutes and rest of the questions I quickly guessed and answered.

So, the key to score is...'Time Management'.

Round 2: It was based on the case study. We were given a small caselet (which was
about African + Eastern only) and given 45 minutes to prepare. I have that caselet with
me, so anyone can get it scanned and circulate. The questions that we had to answer
from the case were related to inventory management - mainly on reorder quantity and
stock-out levels. We could present through flip-charts or transparency sheet or power
point.

After presentation, they did ask few questions related to that topic only. Some of the
questions they asked me are as follows:

• In which scenario, will there be certainty in demand? – I answered Pull (or Make
to order) scenario.
• What will be the impact if there is uncertainty in lead time? – I explained
correctly the impact with the help of formula
• Suppose you are organizing a party in your college and you would have to
arrange the food, so how will you go about it considering that all people eat
similar type of food and same quantity.

With the presentation and questions, they wanted to see our thinking process and
creativity.

After going through the assessment process, 5 out of 8 got selected for the final
interview.

It was a structured interview and went for 30-35 minutes. Following are some of the
questions that I remember:

• Tell us about yourself.

• They stopped me in between (I just started telling about my work experience
after education) and asked what is ‘Gap Analysis’, which was mentioned in my
CV. I explained but they drilled down to each and every point that I said. Then I
explained in detail about my past work experience.
• What are ARP and ALP about? – They cross-questioned many times and asked for
specific examples too which were related to my projects.
• What are your expectations from our company in terms of growth, opportunities
and salary?
• We work for long hours and sometimes there are no weekends. So, would you be
able to manage?
