2. Features

Functionality, Quality and Productivity

60 page-per-minute digital document production system. Prints or copies at 60 cpm/ppm.

1200 x 600 dpi interpolated resolution with 256 gradations of grey.

Enhanced duplex functionality. Using a single pass duplex system the GP605 will output
duplex copies or prints at rated engine speed.

Desktop access to full document finishing capabilities. From the control panel or connected
users' desktop, the GP605 can be programmed to sort, staple, three hole punch, saddle stitch
and z-fold document sets ready for immediate distribution.

SmartScan Page Recognition automatically recognises text orientation, correcting for misfed
documents, ensuring duplexed output is correctly oriented when selected with Image
Combination features, and virtually eliminating user errors relative to copy output.

Image Server standard (2 GB) delivers Scan Once Print Many, Auto Image Orientation,
Automatic Page Impositioning for Saddle Stitch output, dedicated user mailboxes for secure
printing, proof copying, forms management and overlays and storage capabilities expanding
user application options.

Copy Reservation (Copy A / Copy B)

The machine has two copy functions (Copy A / Copy B). While copying in one function, you
can reserve the other copy job using the other copy function. A reserved copy job immediately
starts after the current copy job is completed. This allows you to save the time required for
scanning the reserved copy job's originals.

Mailbox

When printing to the GP605 the data can first be stored to a registered mail box and then print
whenever desired. The print job is released from the LCD panel enabling you to avoid mixing
the prints with copies or when setting a password perform secure printing.

Print Monitor

By using the Print Monitor you can check the status of a printing document and cancel
printing, or specify the printing priority.

Konica

Konica 7060

Introducing Konica's second generation digital printer/copier: The Konica 7060 Workgroup
Document System(TM). The Konica 7060 will change the way documents are produced. The
7060 achieves remarkable efficiency with unsurpassed reliability. Advance digital engineering,
like Dual Beam Laser Imaging with Konica's Air Bearing Technology, and Electronic Re-
circulating Document Handler and Stackless Duplex System make the 7060 a truly productive
and reliable machine. Complementing the 7060's speed is a comprehensive approach to
document production, streamlining document handling and minimizing user intervention. The
7060 sources a total of 7,100 sheets of paper to ensure that productivity never has to take a

Canon Product Information Document

break. Scores of easy to use features mean you work less to produce more. With so many
advantages and a series of modular accessories, you'll see why the 7060 is the key to your
success.
The large-capacity ERDH (Electronic Re-circulating Document Hander) memory receives and
stores the originals as compressed digitized data using ALDC (Adaptive Lossless Data
Compression) to ensure quality. The standard 16MB of memory can handle about 90 8.5X11
pages , with optional memory upgrades available for a total of 128 MB to support even the
largest applications. By having to scan your important documents only once, you save time and
greatly cut down on the risk of paper jams. Furthermore, because the data is stored in the
ERDH memory, it is free from quality degradation-you know that your last copy is as clear as
your first.
The powerful partner complementing the ERDH is the 7060's finisher. While the ERDH takes
care of handling all the data for producing quality copies, the Finisher takes those copies and
turns them into stapled documents. The finisher has a total paper capacity of 2,200 sheets of
paper in two output bins, and supports three position stapling. From start to finish, user
intervention is minimized, making the 7060 exceptionally easy to use for producing high-
quality documents at impressive speeds.
The 7060's speed and reliability are further enhanced by an innovative Stackless Duplex
System, which can generate double-sided copies in a single step. Since the 7060 makes
duplexed copies without ever stopping pages in the paper path, it can generate an unlimited
number of duplex copies in a single run. Because there is no need to stack the sheets for a
second run, the risk of paper jams is greatly reduced and productivity is dramatically improved.
The 7060 utilizes a concurrent architecture enabling two jobs to be stored in the ERDH
memory at the same time. With Dual Access, users can program and scan subsequent copy jobs
while the 7060 is completing previous print or copy jobs. The 7060's Dual Access technology
improves user productivity by giving them access to the machine, regardless if it is busy
printing or copying previous jobs.
By simply adding the IP-302 Print Controller, the 7060 is transformed into a 60 page-per-
minute document printer that provides a dramatic cost decrease and productivity increase over
the traditional method of creating originals on a laser printer and then producing sets on an
analog copier. Imagine a shared network printer that has a massive 7,100 sheet paper supply,
high quality 600 dpi output, and special features including booklet mode and covers insertion.
Designed with flexibility in mind, the 7060 supports all of the major operating systems and
protocols including: Novell NetWare, Windows NT, UNIX, and Macintosh. Connectivity will
also be available for AS/400 and mainframe printing environments.

Ricoh

Ricoh has recently introduced the Aficio 650 model. This is basically the faster brother of the
Aficio 500. The 650 is not yet described on the Ricoh website, so to give the idea of sales
approach we have included the description on the Aficio 500.

Aficio 500
The 500 offers a new level of document handling sophistication, enabling you to perform a
broad range of tasks – from Electronic Sorting to Auto Image Rotation, Data Stamping and
more – with uncompromising ease.
A powerful memory enhances the machine’s flexibility.
The 500 has fast 51* copies per minute output and makes duplexing of documents fast & easy.
Indeed the 500 digital technology offers improvements in every area. It runs every copy job
straight from its memory – scanning originals, storing them on hard disk and then processes
your instructions through to completion.
The 500 has a large paper capacity of 1000 sheets, plus 500 sheets and a 40-sheet bypass. An
optional paper bank (2 x 500 sheets or 3 x 500 sheets) makes the available paper volume even
greater.
One of the main advantages of the 500 optional Finisher is that it delivers complete, stapled
copy sets one at a time, eliminating the need to wait until the machines reaches the last page of
every set before you can obtain finished copies. Making more than 20 sets of copies no longer
presents a problem, since there is no limitation caused by sorter bins.
The 500’s Touch Panel Display makes for easier and simpler operation.
Articles, fine photography and intricate graphic layouts emerge as clearly as plain text thanks
to the 500’s 400 dots-per-inch, 256-level Grey scale output and micro-fine toner.
Ricoh technology lets you add page numbers, date, and user - programmable information to
your copies during the copy process.
Background Numbering and user programmable stamps, such as letterhead formats and
company logos, add security to handout copies and lend your documents a more professional
image.

The Document Centre 265

From the company that invented copying, comes a whole new technology that changes
everything. A new Document Centre digital product that scans and prints at 65 pages per
minute, so work gets done faster, easier, and better.

Digital from the ground up to help you get more work done.

With its high performance scan and print speed, the 265DC makes short work of a lot of copy
jobs.
For example, the 265DC scans your originals only once, and then prints as many copies as you
need. So once scanning is complete, you can leave with your originals.
Or you can stay at the copier and program and scan a second job while the Document Centre
265 is still printing the previous one. The 265DC queues the new job in memory, and begins
printing it as soon as the current job finishes. In some cases when you program and scan
ahead like this, the time between printing jobs is zero!
How about a complicated job for which some pages are 2-sided, others are single-sided, others
are card-stock inserts, and still others require special image quality adjustments? Impossible for
most traditional analog copiers. But not for the Document Centre 265DC. Its Build Job feature
allows you to scan in and program job segments one after the other. When you're finished,
select the number of sets you want, and hit start. The 265DC puts it all together.
Want to make a booklet? No problem for the Document Centre 265. Sequence your originals
in a normal order, select Booklet Creation, select the number of copies needed, and hit start.
Your booklets print in a collated stack, ready to be folded. No special sequencing of originals,
and no collation of your copies needed.

The 265DC scans your face-up originals from the top down. This means that when making 2-
sided copies from single-sided originals, no pre-count is required- the copier starts working on
your job as soon as it scans the first original.
With the 265DC, copying is easy, productive, and just plain better.

Digital image quality. First copy. Every copy.

The 265DC is packed with the latest Xerox digital imaging technology to give you the best
image quality available in copying today. Our Auto IQ image processing optimizes image
quality across a wide variety of original types: from simple text to complex documents that mix
text, graphics and half-tone photos. Pages from magazines. Even continuous tone photographs.

Once you see it, you'll wonder how we do it.

Our scanner uses our patented Full-width Array Scanning Technology that scans originals
directly, size-for-size, with no optical image reduction. This gives our images a level of fidelity
other scanners find very hard to match-especially at 65 scans per minute. And our dual-beam
laser printing system produces high-fidelity, clean, clear copies of even your toughest originals.

Digital reliability.

Traditional 65 page-per-minute analog copiers can have up to 2,000 replaceable parts. This
one has less than 250. With the 265DC, simpler is not only better, it's more reliable.
At regular intervals, you can replace copier components that wear out over time yourself. This
means a lot fewer service calls from us and a lot more uptime for you.
When you do need service, just call our Welcome Center. With our Sixth Sense software, we
can remotely diagnose your situation. Then we'll either repair your copier over the phone, or
we'll send out a local service representative. Expect all of your service calls to be prompt,
simple and short-minimum service time, maximum uptime.
Digital reliability is an important part of the digital difference.

Count on a connection.

The 265DC comes with something you won't find on most copiers- a future. To get the most
from your investment in a digital copier, you will probably want to upgrade to a digital copier
printer capable of printing, faxing, and scanning on your local area network.
Count on it. We'll make it happen, and it will require only a simple upgrade of the very same
digital copier you bought from us originally. We'll protect your investment in the 265DC well
into the future.

Designed for minimum effect ... on the environment.

Our new Document Centre products are environmentally friendly by choice, not by law. In
fact, the Document Centre 265DC is the first-ever Zero Landfill product. This means that we
are providing you with environmental solutions for your operations. If you return all of your
replaceable units to us (at our cost), we will reuse or recycle them. The Xerox Zero Landfill
initiative is environmental responsibility of the highest order and a key Xerox commitment to
you, the customer.
