TOPIC:”Making suggestions and express preferences”.

TYPE OF LESSON:Teaching grammar.

TIMING:50’

NUMBER OF Ss.:6

SKILLS:listening,reading,writing,speaking.

CLASS MANAGEMENT:class work,pair work,individual work.

TEACHING AIDS:flashcards,worksheets,poster,internet,laptop.

TEACHING TECHNIQUES:dialogue,explanation,exercise,brainstorming,
game, observation.

AIMS:by the end of the lesson students will be able to:

-develop and practice their productive and receptive skills;

-ask and answer questions;

-make suggestions and express their preferences.

OBJECTIVES:
A.Cognitive objectives:

a) to check and improve vocabulary;

b) to encourage students to talk freely;

c) to give students more practice on pronunciation,

vocabulary and the structures previously taught.

B.Affective objectives:

a) making students confident in their ability to use the language;

b) creating interest in the topic of the lesson;

c) creating a relaxed atmosphere, proper for studying;

d) foster learner independence and cooperative learning;

e) stimulating students’ imagination and creativity;

f) having fun.

METHODS:Communicative approach.

LOCATION:language laboratory.
Activity 1: WARM –UP.

AIMS:

 to create a nice friendly atmosphere;


 to check their previous acquisition.

Teacher greets Ss and vice versa.

T asks Ss several questions about weather and their mood. Chatting in English
at the beginning of the lesson, T creates an ‘English language’ atmosphere,
establishing contact between her and SS, and helps SS to feel relax.

Time:2’

ACTIVITY 2:LEAD –IN.

AIMS:

 to get Ss involved into the topic;

to raise their interest for the lesson.

Teacher presents Ss a picture and asks seveveral questions.Ss answer the


questions in turns.

T announces them the subject of the lesson.

TIME:3’

ACTIVITY 3:PRESENTATION.

AIMS:

to elicit the new grammatical structure;

to practice pronunciation;

to teach grammar in “an innocent way”.

Ss act out a dialogue then underline possible structures.


T guide them and presents the new useful phrases. The rules are written on the
blackboard(with examples).

T gives to the Ss a worksheet with a song’s lyrics and play the song. Ss have to
complete the missing words.

TIME:15’

ACTIVITY 4:PRODUCTION.

AIMS:

to understand written messages;

to make them practice the new structure;

to encourage them to speak freely ;

T gives worksheets with different types of exercises and explains them what
to do.

Ss work in pairs then share their opinion.

T guides them , translates the unknown words then checks their answers with
the whole class.

T shows Ss some flashcards with different situations and questions and some
others with different choices. One student has to stand up the situation then the
question and wait for suggestions. Ss have to make different suggestions and
express their preference according to the images.

TIME:25’

ACTIVITY 5:HOMEWORK.

to practice individually the new items;

to check their knowledge;

T gives Ss worksheets containing multiple choice exercises and explains them


what to do then congratulates and grades them.
