P3 – SCIENTIFIC INVESTIGATION.

a) INFERENCE Time for one oscillation is influenced by the length of the

rope.
B is influenced by A.
b) HYPHOTHESIS When the length of the rope increases, the time for one
oscillation is increases.
When A is increases, B will increase.
c) i) AIM OF To study the relationship between the length of pendulum
EXPERIMENT and the time for one oscillation.
To study the relationship between A and B.
ii) LIST OF Manipulated variable : Length of pendulum/ l
VARIABLES Responding variable : Time for 20 oscillation/ t
Fixed variable : Mass of the bob.
iii) LIST OF Brass bob, thread, retort stand, meter rule, stopwatch.
APPARATUS AND
MATERIALS.
iv) ARRANGEMENT Draw a labeled diagram
OF THE
APPARATUS

v) PROCEDURE OF - Set up the apparatus as shown above.

THE EXPERIMENT - Start the experiment with length of the pendulum l
= 10cm
- Swing the pendulum and record the time for 20
complete oscillations. Find the time for one oscillation.
- Repeat the experiment with l = 20cm, 30cm, 40cm,
50cm.

vi) ANALYSE DATA Plot a time for one oscillation against length of pendulum
graph
