SWC Lesson Reflection (Completed after EVERY lesson taught)

On 25 of February, I was teaching a lesson about number 16 for KG1-A fronts my MCT,

Mr. Robin and MST, MS. Wafa Mohammed. Before I started to explain the lesson for the

students I wanted to arrive the information in a good way in their minds. So, through the lesson, I

was so scared of my students to not sitting nicely, get attention and not cooperation with me

while I teach. But I saw the entirely different situation from them. They were very quiet, they

were sitting nicely and so active in the classroom. Furthermore, got attention when I explained

the lesson.

Before I started to explain the lesson, I asked them about the date and the name and logo

of our school. Then, we did the baby shark songs together to motivate them and move their fine

and gross motor skills. According to Piaget, “Movement is at the very center of young children’s
lives. It is an important facet of all aspects of their development” (Henniger, 2010). After that, I

started the lesson about number 16. Firstly, I asked the question about the prior lesson. For

example, what’s the number we took it on Thursday? Then, I let them stand up and count on the

video from 1 to 20 and let them count. Also, I drew a caterpillar on the board to find what our

number is today. Then, they were clapping their hand and jumping 16 times to understand the

lesson more and concentrate on their mind fast. Also, I taught them how to write and showed

them the carrots and sticks I asked them about the letter and the sound of letter C. Additionally, I

allowed them to find number 1 and 6 then put it to gather. Furthermore, we did the box activity.

For example, they should count all materials on the box to find number 16. Through this activity,

I noticed they were very active and enthused. After that, we did the activity; I divided them into

three groups that based on their level. For example, high, average and low level. The high level,

they pasted 16 pieces of cotton on the circle. The average level should put 16 pieces of cotton on

16 boxes. Then, they will write number 16 but the low level traced number 16 by pieces of

cotton. Also, I gave the play dough for some students who finished quickly. At the end of the

lesson, I allowed the students to find number 16 around the classroom. So, I noticed the students

very happy and so active because I used activities which excited students. So, to enhance number

16 more in the student's minds give the whole class chance to write the number at the same time

by using small whiteboards.

By explaining the lesson, I achieved the goals that I wanted to achieve them. Such as eye

contact, develop my language, time management and control about their behavior.
