Evaluation of my Personal Leadership Style
Reflection on the Results of my Seven Habits Profile
The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People (1989) is a business and self-help book bestseller. The work
brings up that success comes from developing personal leadership, from which leadership of others can

* Devote time and energy to the important things that contribute towards achieving our goals. Avoid
wasting time by reacting to the urgent things from short-term emergencies.
The total for this category was 14. It is one of the areas where I need to work harder on, specifically in
relation to the question “the things I do every day are meaningful and contribute to my overall goals in
life”. I still allow some distractions to interfere.
4. Think win / win. Cooperation rather than competition:
* Achieving mutual benefit for all parties with a common goal involved.
I scored 17 for this category in the questionnaire. For any project to succeed, the cooperation of all
stakeholders is vital. There are cases were team member can have competing goals, like when expressing
that one feature is more important than another and the resources available can address only one of those
features. Here is where I work with them by negotiating, compromising or seeking other conflict resolution
techniques to reach cooperation.

* Active listening is about searching for meaning, gathering and clarifying information to develop an
understanding from the other’s point of view.
