My dream job is to be a developmental psychologist working with toddlers and

teenagers. I would like to be working on how human development can contribute to
humankind’s problem solving. A developmental psychologist might study how
children encode and understand emotions. As well as studying the role of the parents
in children’s life that will help the child obtain the ability of regulate their emotions
(Guide, 2017). Developmental psychology looks forward to understand human
behavior, as Sue Norman explain, “Developmental psychology looks at how human
behavior, thoughts and feelings form during a person's life by studying what we were,
what we are and what we will become. Sue Norman explains its importance” (Norman,
2003).

To become a developmental psychologist, one must have a bachelor’s degree

in psychology, a master’s degree, and either a Ph.D. or a Psy.D. (Psychology, 2017).
Currently I am working towards a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Also, I have talked
with developmental psychologist in order to inform myself of how is it like to be a
developmental psychologist and how a day for them looks like, which includes
reviewing studies about human development, and interacting with people of different
ages to know how their disembowelment is going. That experienced made me realized
that it is something I see myself doing.

The average salary on BLS for a developmental psychologist is $95,710

(Psychologists, 2016). I would manage this income by taking a 60% and putting it into
a savings account that would be assessed only in case of emergencies, and then the
rest for bill payments and regular consuming expenses.

• Car payment – no more than $150

• Birthday bash for myself? – no more than $70
