Assessment Taxonomy Table

Jessica Daugherty

Review the objectives and activities from a module in your own (current or future) online
course. Then select three or four objectives and decide where they and their activities belong
in Bloom’s categories. Please use at least three different levels.
1. Audience (who?)
2. Behavior (activity)
3. Condition (what will be provided)
4. Degree (criterion or level of expectation)

Knowledge /Remembering Compose Given teacher notes, students will
(recall, list, define, identify, collect, work in groups of 4 to compose
label) two themes each for their choice
novel with 100% accuracy
according to the checklist.
Tool: Google Documents

Activity: After reading their

choice novels over a period of 2
weeks students will formulate
different themes that they learned
from reading their books. By using
Google documents students will
give one another feedback so that
their themes are meeting all parts
of the checklist.
Comprehension/Understanding
(summarize, describe interpret,
predict, discuss)
Application/Applying Construct Given The Beginner's Guide to
(apply, demonstrate, illustrate, Prezi" presentation, students will
classify, experiment, discover) construct a draft of a Prezi
presentation with 75% accuracy
according to the rubric.

Tool: Prezi

Activity: Students are going to

create and customize a Prezi
about their choice novel. In
preparing for the creation of this
presentation students will need to
change the size/font type/color of
text, add or remove textboxes and
images, and add animations.
Analysis/Analyzing
(analyze, classify, connect, explain,
infer)
Evaluation/Evaluating
(assess, recommend, convince,
compare, conclude, summarize)
Synthesis/Creating Create 1. Given audio and visual
(combine, integrate, plan, create, tools, students will create a video
design, formulate) Design
review of their choice novel
with 90% accuracy according to
the rubric.

Screencast-O-Matic

Activity: The point of using

Screencast-O-Matic will be for
students to a short video review of
their book. This means that the
review can be watched by peers
and teacher multiple time, unlike a
live presentation in front of the
class. Students will be giving their
book a review rating out of 5 stars
and recommending reading it (or
not) to peers.

2. Given an online video

tutorial, students will design a
picture depicting a vivid scene
from their choice novel with 90%
accuracy according to the rubric.

Google Drawing

Activity: Students will be using

Google drawing to illustrate their
take on a scene from the story.
This can be the saddest part, the
most surprising part, the most
exciting part, or anything else that
stands out to the reader. The goal
is to illustrate without using words.

Higher Level Assessment: Students are going to use Google Drawing to create
a image that they pictured while reading their choice novel. Ideally, this image
would be a particularly interesting or memorable part of the book. Using Google
Drawing, students can use shapes, colors, text boxes, and even pictures from the
Internet to seemly integrate these items into one image that flows. The creation
of this piece will require computer skill and visual tactics to appropriately place
all necessary items and characters into a single digital scene.
