KIDAPAWAN CITY – At least P3 million worth of property was destroyed after fire gutted a factory of
banana chips on Sudapin Street here before dawn yesterday.

Reynaldo Perea, manager of the RVP Fruits and Enterprise, said the blaze started in a furnace where
they cooked banana chips and quickly spread throughout the building.

Justice Secretary Leila de Lima ordered yesterday the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to
investigate the multi-million peso bribe that the prosecutors allegedly received from the camp of the
accused in the 2009 Maguindanao massacre case led by former Datu Unsay Mayor Andal Ampatuan, Jr.

But De Lima quickly clarified that while she has ordered the NBI to look into the bribery allegations of
private lawyers Nena Santos and Prima Jesusa Quinsayas, she is still standing by the denial made by the
panel of prosecutors led by supervising Justice Undersecretary Fransisco Baraan II.
