Additional Resources Question: I have a vessel design that requires an "RT2" designation. I selected 100% (full) RT on the longitudinal seams and Spot RT on
the circumferential (girth) seams but the COMPRESS summary reports "RT3" in the summary report. How do I get COMPRESS
FAQs by Topic to report "RT2"?

Power User’s Guide

Answer: The RT designation is determined automatically by COMPRESS based on the types of radiography specified for the
Training circumferential and longitudinal welds on the shell components.

ASME VIII-1, paragraph UG-116(e)(2), states that an "RT 2" designation requires the complete vessel to satisfy the rules of UW
Get Updates 11(a)(5) and the spot radiography requirements of UW-11(a)(5)(b). Specifying spot radiography (RT) without also meeting the
requirements of UW-11(a)(5)(b) will not meet the requirements of RT 2.

COMPRESS provides options to specify special versions of Spot radiography that indicate the requirements of UW-11(a)(5)(b)
have been met for that joint; both Type 1 and Type 2 joints are available. In the typical head dialog below, there are selections
near the top of the radiography list for "Spot UW-11(b)". Further down the list are selections for "Spot UW-11(a)(5)(b)". Selecting
these for all applicable seams will cause COMPRESS to report an RT 2 designation for the vessel. Note that the Code may
require additional spot radiographs in order to meet UW-11(a)(5) and therefore RT 2.
