The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may
not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals
in your plug, proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal
in the plug which is marked with the letter N or coloured BLACK.

terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter L or coloured
RED.

IMPORTANT
A 5 amp fuse is fitted in this plug. Shoud the fuse need to be replaced
please ensure that the replacement fuse has a rating of 5 amps and
75/300 ohm antenna adapter (1) that it is approved by ASTA or BSI to BS 1362. Check for the ASTA
(supplied with models other than the European model) mark or the BSI mark on the body of the fuse.
IF THE FITTED MOULDED PLUG IS UNSUITABLE FOR THE

Connecting the CR-185X to the K-185X and MD-185X


● Do not plug in the power cord until all connections have been made.
● For each pair of connectors, the connector marked R corresponds to the right channel, and the connector marked L to the left channel.
● Refer to the instruction manual of each component when making connections.
● Do not place the MD recorder or cassette deck on top of the CR-185X.
● Fully insert all plugs. Improper insertion of plugs may cause noise or a malfunction of the system.
● Avoid bundling the audio connection cables with the power cord or speaker cables. Doing so may degrade the sound reproduction.

Pressing this button repeatedly clears the tracks
one by one in the reverse order (from the last

Shows how long the current track has

Selecting the timer mode

1 1. Press the TIMER button to switch the


timer mode among the following five
modes:
WEEKDAY: You can play from your
selected component (CD, tape, tuner, MD,
line) at the designated time on weekdays.
WEEKEND: You can play from your
TIMER
selected component (CD, tape, tuner, MD,
line) at the designated time on weekends.
REC: Starting at the designated time,
you can record your favourite programs
from the tuner or the component con-
nected to the LINE IN connectors. The
tape deck, the MD recorder or both the
tape deck and the MD recorder can be
selected for recording.
DAYSET: You can change the day of the
weekday or weekend setting.
ADJUST: You can set the clock.

Using the sleep setting


The sleep setting can power off the system
after a specified time period has passed.
1. Play what you would like to listen to
(CD, tape, radio broadcast, MD or
SLEEP TIMER

2. Press the SLEEP button repeatedly to

set the desired sleep time (90 to 10 in 10
minute intervals).
After the specified time has passed, the
power will be switched off automatically.
SLEEP TIMER • To check the remaining time, press the
SLEEP button.
SLEEP • During CD dubbing, the power will not
be switched off until the dubbing is fin-
ished, even if the sleep time passes.
Cancelling the sleep setting
Press the SLEEP button repeatedly until the
sleep setting is turned off (nothing appears on
the display).

Notes for time setting


• Make sure that the clock has been set
correctly before the timer setting.
• After setting the timer, be sure to set the
power off. When the power is on, the timer
does not activate even at the ON time.
• When the power is on with the timer, the
TIMER A other timers do not activate at the ON
time. The power will be switched off at
