JOB DESCRIPTION FOR PLANNING

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE

1. Planning / Project Control


a. Follow the established company-wide Planning / Project Control Standards under the
direction of VP – Project Control.
b. Prepare a Master Programme in-line with company’s Business Strategy (Target, Deliverables,
Milestones, Market Commitments, etc.) in conjunction and guidance of VP – Project Control
for the approval of company management.
c. Update the Master Programme regularly and monitor the progress (Design, Engineering,
Procurement and Construction) under the purview of VP – Project Control & the Project
Head / Project Director.
d. Prepare programmes for all trades’ packages for inclusion into their respective trades’
tenders / contracts, and as per the established “packaging strategy” under the purview of VP
– Project Control & Project Director.
e. Prepare Micro schedules as-and-when required.
f. Review / facilitate analysis of the (all types of) work schedules produced by others, including
consultants, contractors, vendors, etc. and ensure that they are in-line with the Master
Programme.
g. Coordinate the planning / project requirements of consultants, contractors, vendors, etc.
and ensure (under the purview of VP – Project Control) the same is a per their respective
contract documents.
h. Prepare regular reports / presentations (daily, weekly and monthly) – internal and external –
under the purview of VP – Project Control and raise “alerts” on issues required to be
addressed urgently / immediately (incl. Design, Contracts, Engineering, Procurement,
Construction)
i. Project Actual Data against Planned Data (Earned Value Management) – for the project as a
whole and each individual package.
j. Identify “issues of concerns” and prepare Critical Issues / Risk Matrix, and raise “alerts” /
“flags” as-and-when required.
k. Review and comment on Consultants’, Contractors’ and / or Vendors’ Programmes and
Reports, and check if the same are in-line with the Project Programme, under the purview of
VP – Project Control and Project Head.
l. Identify Critical Issues / Risks and prepare the Risk Matrix under the guidance of the Project
Head, and purview of VP – Project Control.
m. Review claims (rom consultants, contractors and / or vendors) and prepare analyses and
reports under the purview of VP – Project Control; and advise if the claim is valid or not.
n. Prepare internal TIA (Time Impact Analyses) as-and-when required, including counter-claims,
and, in general, inputs to change administration under the purview of VP – Project Control.
o. List, maintain and track change administration.
p. Liaise with the Property Management Team (PMS) and – a) provide regular forecasts during
the project; b) coordinate the completion and handover requirements in under the guidance
of VP – Project Control.

2. Others
a. Assist the VP – Project Control in developing planning / project control standards
(communications protocols, project processes and documentation workflows), improvise
same for project use and implement, in coordination with other project team members.
b. Arrange meetings, prepare meeting agendas and meeting minutes.
c. Overview of all project communications and records.
d. Provide guidance and nurture junior planning / project control staff, understand their
respective training needs and appraise VP – Project Control of the same.
