COURSE TITLE: HUMANITIES 1 (MAN, ARTS, AND SOCIETY)

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to study the reflection on the totality of human experience, and to formulate for the students in a human perspective that integrates all
branches of knowledge in a profound understanding of the individual as well as society. Art and artistic expression are likewise looked deeper into to contribute to
the understanding of the beautiful and the good in human experience.

TIME DURATION: This course has three (3) contact hours per week or equivalent to 13 weeks with a total of 574 hours a semester.

UNIT CREDIT: This is a three (3) unit course with three (3) contact hours per week.

PLACEMENT: This is a content course offered to students during the 1st semester of every academic year in the first year level based from CIMO 014’s 2007.

OBJECTIVES:

3.ACADEMIC PROGRAM OBJECTIVES: In pursuit of its mission statements, College of Liberal Arts is committed to fulfill the following objectives:
a. Develop well-rounded individual who can adjust to an ever changing social economic and political government;
b. Produce professionals with fields of specialization in Humanities, Social and Natural Science and Communication Education who can efficiently respond
to local and global market;
c. Provide opportunities for experimental learning and experimentation; and
d. Develop conceptual design and technical skills necessary for gainful employment.
4. GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE:
a.To develop the students’ critical perception and heighten their aesthetic sensibility with the view of making them sensitive to the material and social
world.
b. To develop the students’ awareness of the interrelationships among the arts within socio-historical context.
c. To enhance their enjoyment of the arts, particularly those of their own cultural heritage.
