Pengaruhnya Work Stress terhadap Kinerja Individu dan Organisasi

Abstract
Stress in a workplacw occurs as the individual’s response to his works and working
environment. Stress can give positive effect to one’s achievement in working if he sees the source
of stress as a work motivation. On the contrary, stress can bring negative effect to someone if he
sees it as an obstacle which has to be eliminated. The influence of stress towards individuals
depends on individual difference which covers perception, job experience, social support, locus
of control, hostility and gender. The effect of stress within individual absolutely determines the
improvement and decrease of the company’s performance.

Penggunaan Metode Extreme Programming dalam Pemrograman

Abstract
Creating a large application using object-oriented programming as a tool needs not only a
good design, but also a purpose. Lack of design will introduce a lot of bug. And yet lack of
purpose will run the whole application design. Extreme programming is one of the methods that
can be used to create an object-oriented application. This particular article is an introduction to
extreme programming method by mens of the object-oriented programming language C# (C
Sharp).

Gambaran Kebiasaan Merokok di Kaangan mahasiswa pada Sebuah

Abstract
Smoking is not a good habit, but it is practiced widely among by people. Its effects
are very harmful for health. Cigarettes or tobaccos contains various toxic chemicals, which
can lead to various diseases such as lung cancer and heart attack.
The particular study aims at getting information about the prevalence of smokers in
medicine students and their behaviour.
The study is done by a survey and had been carried out by questionnaires which
were distributed to 200 medicine students. Then, the data were collected and processed
manually.
Among 143 (47%) of completed and returned questionnaires, there were 409c of
smokers consisted 80% male and 20% female. About 94% of them had become smokers for
more than one year. Most of cigarettes they smoked were filtered one (79%) and 56% of the
smokers consumed more than JO cigarettes daily, 84% of them smoked wherever thev like
and 40% smoked whenever the v like. 58% of the smokers stated that thev felt tr-araqulized
after smoking, and 69% said that they smoked the cigarettes because of the external
environmental influences. All of the smokers were aware of the dangers of smoking and
most of them realized this effects from mass media (68%), and 77% had desired to stop
smoking.
The conclusions are the prevalence of smokers in medicine students is -10%.. Thev
had engaged in this habit for more than one year. All of the smokers had already known the
danger of smoking and most of the informations came from mass media. The habitof
smoking is triggered by the external environmental influences. However, they have
intentionof ceasing to smoke the cigarettes.
It is advisable that all the people and particularly medicine students, being the
candidate to become practitioners not initiate smoking.

Abstract
The problem storing of the digital data in a manner the opinion and efficient in the
computer was a challenge, in fact that the wish of each user of the computer could keep the
data/information as much as possible but kept him in the minimum number - of memories.
At first in the matter of the storage of the picturelthe photograph or the digital
video. the example a picture of rlre measurement 1024x768 with the color resolution 24 bit,
will need the merrtorv as big as 2,25Mbvte, with kept 1000 pictures will be needed b) the
mernorr as big as around 2,25Gbyte. In the work wrote this explained several digital
rooandatiorrs nf thc technique of the compression of the data (compressed the dcrtcw that
possiblv could be useful for -that needed knowledge to that.
There were 2 groups of the compression of the data that is lossless compression and
lossy compression. Lossless compression was the technique of the compression of the data
that gave the guarantee that the data of results of the compression will be the same to be
precise with his original data if being done bv decompression.
If was 1 bit the data that was lost, then when decompression will happen the
mistake of the reconstruction of the data, as a result could become a fatal mistake. Whereas
Loss v compression was the technique of the compression of the data that permitted the
existence of the data that was or not lost exact with his original data this could happen
because in fact, the digital representation of the data from the analogous data,frorn the
beginning was imperfect, then the idea to might not be the same precisely between 'Input'
and 'output' in the image data and the voice still will be able to be accepted: therefore will
be produced a big compression.

Analysis of The Theme in Timothy Mo’s The Monkey King

Abstrak
Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menganalisa novel karya Timothy Mo yang berjudul The
Monkey King. Novel tersebut berfokus pada pertentangan antara dua kebudayaan, yaitu
kebudayaan barat dan kebudayaan Tionghoa. Secara lebih spesifik, The Monkey King
menceritakan tentang pria keturunan Portugis-Tionghoa yang memiliki latar belakang
kebudayaan barat. Ia terpaksa hidup dengan keluarga keturunan Tionghoa yang konservatif
disebabkan oleh kesulitan ekonomi. Setelah membaca novel tersebut secara seksama, penulis
dapat menarik tema yang tercermin dari setiap tindakan yang dilakukan oleh pria tersebut
didalam menyesuaikan diri baik dengan keluarga maupun juga dengan adat istiadat mereka.
Aspek inilah yang akan penulis analisa di dalam penelitian ini. Penulis juga menggunakan
penekatan ekstrinsik berupa ajaran Konfusinisme dan Taoisme didalam penelitian ini sehingga
hasil penelitiannya menjadi lebih akurat dan mendalam.

Abstract
Information Technology Program at Maranatha Christian University for both
Bachelor (Sl) and Diploma (D3) Programs for the advanced level courses require the use of
adequate graphical software. To fulfill that requirement, there are two options that must
be chosen, one of the options is by purchasing the commercial products such as Matlab, and
the other options is by building it from scratch. Both options have advantages and
disadvantages that need to be examined closely.
The purchase of commercial products such as Matlab requires expensive licensing
cost, and the other alternative that worthy of consideration is by creating home-built
software. The advantages of the second choice is the software development can be subject
of a continuous research project, but the disadvantages, other than the closing of the time
frame before the software is needed for the teaching processes, are the need for adequate
skill level, budget, and development time to build the software. Some the alternative
technologies such as Java, Simple Direct Media Layer, and DirectX will be examined as the
software tools for building the required software, as well as the other considerations such
as the identified early requirements, the next steps that should be taken, and many more.
