My goal for this lesson is to let them recognize the colours and see how we mix them and what the colours we
can find.

For achieving my goal, I will engage them with an activity, I will use eye contact strategy with them.

3. Describe how you can tell if you’re achieving your goal (Evidence)

I will know that I am achieving my goal at the end of the lesson when I will assess them and ask them
questions related to the topic.

Kindergarten 2-4 Science – mixing colors


Students will be know the name of each color.

Identify each color with the name of it.

- Circle time: Smart TV, Colors flashcards - Wipes for cleaning hands
(Red, Yellow, Blue, Orang, Green and

Introduction (warmer activity + teacher active engagement)

- I will start the lesson with flashcards with the primary colors, then let the children find any
primary colors in the classroom (Red, Yellow and Blue)

- Play the Mixing colors song on the smart TV


Time: 15 min

- Pick children to come on the board use the brush to mix the two primary colors to explore
and see the secondary color (Acrylic colors) that will show when they mix it together.

Independent Experience (small group activity 1)

- Children will use the print brushes to mix the primary colors to get the secondary colors
(Acrylic colors), then they will paint what they want from the final (secondary) color on the
A4 paper.
Independent Experience (small group activity 2)

- Children will use the print brush to paint his one palm with only one primary color, then
will print it in the big white paper either his colleague will do the same paint his one palm
with different primary color. After that they will mix their both palms together to explore
the new color which is the secondary color that will show and paint it on the same big white
paper.

Independent Experience (small group activity 3)

- Children will pick two pom poms that has the primary colors, after that they will find the
secondary colors (pom poms) that it shows if we mix these two primary colors. Then stick
the colors on the A4 paper by using the glue.

- Who can tell me what we learn and did today?

- By showing them the flashcards “who can tell me what is this color?”

- When we mix yellow and red what color we will have?


Assessment

I will use a checklist to assess them, I am going to ask them about the colours using the flashcards.
