Significant Weather Features
♦ Heavy rain occurred at isolated places over Konkan & Goa from 0830 to 1730 hours IST of today.
♦ Thunderstorm occurred at isolated places over East Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand from 0830 hours IST to 1730 hours
IST of today.
Main Weather Observations
Rainfall (from 0830 hours IST to 1730 hours IST of today) Rain occurred:
At a few places over Odisha, West Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala, SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and
Lakshadweep.
At isolated places over East Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, North Interior Karnataka, Tamilnadu & Puducherry, Andaman
& Nicobar Islands, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh.
♦ Maximum temperature departures as on 20092017: Maximum temperatures are appreciably above normal (3.1°C to
5.0°C) at most places over Uttarakhand and West Rajasthan; at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir; at isolated places over
Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Gujarat region and Kerala; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over West Uttar
Pradesh, east Rajasthan and Andaman & Nicobar Islands; at a few places over Punjab, West Madhya Pradesh and East Uttar
Pradesh; at isolated places over Tamilnadu. They are markedly below normal (5.1°C or less) at a few places over south
Madhya Maharashtra and at isolated places over Konkan & Goa; appreciably below normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places
over North Interior Karnataka; at isolated places over East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha; below normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at
many places over Vidarbha; at a few places over Odisha, SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Telangana and Chhattisgarh; at
isolated places over Assam & Meghalaya and near normal over rest parts of the country.
♦ Minimum temperature departures as on 20092017: Minimum temperatures are above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most
places over Uttarakhand; at many places over West Madhya Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh & Gujarat region; at a few places over
West Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra & Kutch, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at isolated places over Jammu &
Kashmir, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal
Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura. They are below normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at a few
places over Haryana and at isolated places over East Rajasthan, rest Assam & Meghalaya and near normal over rest parts of the
country.

Meteorological Analysis (Based on 1730 hours IST)
♦ The low pressure area over north Chhattisgarh & neighbourhood now lies over East Madhya Pradesh and
adjoining north Chhattisgarh and the associated cyclonic circulation extends upto 7.6 km above mean sea level.
♦ The trough extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level from the above system to Konkan across Vidarbha &
Marathawada persists.
♦ The axis of monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Bikaner, Shivpuri, Tikamgarh, centre of
the above low pressure area, Keongjhargarh, Chandbali and thence eastsoutheastwards to eastcentral Bay of
Bengal and extends upto 0.9 km above mean sea level.
♦ The cyclonic circulation over SubHimalayan West Bengal & neighbourhood at 3.1 km above mean sea level
persists.
♦ The Off shore trough at mean sea level off GoaKarnataka coasts persists.
♦ The cyclonic circulation over north Madhya Maharashtra and adjoining south Gujarat region & north Konkan
between 3.1 km & 7.6 km above mean sea level persists.
♦ The Western Disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation over central Pakistan & adjoining Punjab at 3.1
km above mean sea level persists.
♦ The other Western Disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation over eastern parts of Afghanistan &
neighbourhood between 3.1 & 5.8 km above mean sea level with the trough aloft with its axis at 7.6 km above
mean sea level roughly along Longitude 64.0°E to the north of Latitude 30.0°N persists.
Weather Forecast for next 5 days * upto 0830 hours IST of 25th September 2017
♦ Meteorological subdivision wise detailed 5 days rainfall forecast is given in Table.
♦ Thunderstorm very likely to occur at isolated places over east Assam and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura
during next 24 hours.
♦ No significant change in maximum temperatures over northwest India during next 24 hours and fall by 24°C
thereafter. No significant change in maximum and minimum temperatures over rest parts of the country during next
23 days.
Weather Outlook for subsequent 2 days from 25th September to 27th September 2017
♦ Rain at many places likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, northeast, east and peninsular India.
♦ Isolated to scattered rain likely over rest of the country outside plains of northwest India where weather is likely to be dry.
