Removing the gantry covers and funnel 0

• Remove the decorative ring on the cover. The ring is held in place only with magnets.
• Remove the cover segments. The corners of the segments are held on the gantry frame
with magnets.

NOTICE
NOTE To facilitate reattaching the individual cover segments, mark
them on the inside with a permanent pen when removing them.
The orientation of the cover segments in this document is always
as viewed from the front of the gantry; the same applies to the
back cover segments.

• Before removing the front funnel, open light marker connections LM4 X310 and/or LM5
X311. (Both connectors are identical.)
On the back funnel the loudspeaker X388 and microphone 1 X389 connections must
be opened. Then remove the screws using a 5 mm Allen key and the nuts with a 10 mm
key.
• Carefully remove the funnel and then the Plexiglas strip.

• Align the front and rear funnels so that the inner sides correspond exactly and they are
not misaligned.
• When installing the individual cover segments, make sure that the metal clips in the
segments catch securely on the magnets on the gantry frame. The magnets for the dec-
orative cover ring are countersunk in the front segments. The lower segments have
pointed corners whereas the upper segments are rounded.
• Design ring and plexiglas strip.

NOTICE
NOTE When reinstalling the ring, make sure that the metal plates are
centered exactly above the magnets. To do this, the center notch
of the ring (1/Fig. 3 / p. 14) must be in the 12 o’clock position over
the gap between the two upper cover segments

Checks and adjustments of various rotation speeds

• Call up SERVICE / TestTools / Controller
• Select the test ROT-AP and start with Go. Gantry will rotate and AP to AP times will be
measured. After successful completion, the nominal and actual rotation times as well as
the tolerance range will be displayed, e.g. for 1.5 sec.: Rot Time nom.: 1500.0 ( 1485.0
... 1515.0 ) msec Rot Time actual: 1491.900 msec
In addition, the creep speed for gantry positioning will be displayed under Creep time
actual. This does not have to be adjusted.
If a rotation speed is outside the tolerance, the current value for this speed in the fre-
quency converter has to be read out to adjust it:

NOTICE
NOTE Make sure the LED on the ROT converter shows red before the
keypad KP100 is connected. This means, no gantry rotation is
active. If the LED shows green, gantry rotation is active and no
access to the ROT converter is possible. Press "STOP" button on
C-Box to stop rotation and continue after changing ROT- con-
verter parameter.

• Connect the KP100 keypad at X3 of the Rot Converter.

• Press Stop/Return until MENU appears on the display.
• Press the Arrow key until Para also appears.
• Press Start/Enter.
• Press the Arrow key until the corresponding parameter number and name appear.

Replace board Instructions

"old" by "old" The plug X7 has to be routed through the coil (T6) before connecting it
to the board.
"old" by "new" The cable W609 (X21) must be removed from the gantry. (The "new"

• Switch the Stop Report switch S1 and Service FC switch S3 down for vertical move-
ment. The Vertical/Tilt switch S4 must be up.
• Engage the mechanical rotation brake.
• Remove the cover of the transport crate and place in on the floor rotated by 180°. The

• Install the two mounting supports to the transport device as shown (Fig. 49 / p. 86).

Removing 0

• Remove the ground connection from the HV tank and cut off all corresponding cable
ties.
• Using a 2 mm Allen key, remove the two set screws per high voltage plug, remove the
fastening ring and disconnect the plugs. Use a clean and lint free cloths to avoid any oil
dripping on the slip ring bands. The oil can damage the slip rings.

NOTICE
NOTE Do not touch the slip rings since they are easily damaged.

• Put the high voltage plugs in the supplied bags and close the bags.
• Remove the cover over X3 and X4 on D432.

ble can be pushed approximately 15 cm through the strap.

NOTICE
NOTE While in service mode the table and gantry movement with the
service switches is not monitored for collision conditions. Also
the vertical table safety switches may be activated during move-

• With a 8 mm Allen key remove the four HV tank screws. Now the HV tank is suspended
on the strap and can be carefully moved with the tabletop completely out of the gantry.
• Move the transport device (the packaging cover) between the gantry and the HV tank
so that the four upper Allen screws of the mounting supports face the HV tank.

• Remove the four holding screws and lift the HV tank out of the transport bracket.
• Remove the transport bracket from the gantry.
• Adjust the height with S9 or S10, carefully push the HV tank with the tabletop into the
gantry and tighten it using four new screws with a torque of 110 Nm.
• Move the table down using switch S9 until the tabletop can be moved out of the strap.
• Remove the service hooks from the HV tank and the felt pad from the tabletop.
• Switch the system off and secure it against unintended switch on.

• Clean the high voltage receptacles and candlesticks with a clean and lint free cloths.
• Insert the new sealing ring (Do not use silicone oil).
• Insert the new insulating washer. The shape of the new type of insulating washer, part
no. 3810236, is asymmetric. The relatively flat surface of the insulating washer must
point to the high voltage socket, the surface with the more prominent ring must point to
the high voltage plug. It is no longer permitted to use additional silicone oil, because sili-
cone oil is already present in the material of the new insulating washer.
• Insert the high voltage plugs into the receptacles making sure the polarity is correct.
Verify the correct position of the notch.
• Handtighten the fastening ring and secure it with the set screws. Make sure the set
srews are not positioned directly over the gap between the split ring underneath the fas-
tening ring. Secure the small set screws with a bit of Loctite 221: - Unscrew the set
screws until approx. two threads can be seen. - Put a bit of Loctite 221 to the thread and
tighten the set screws.
• Connect the ground cables at the HV tank housing.
• Fix all cables with cable ties.
• Install the center section of the transport crate over the transport device with the old HV
tank.
