How to Setup a Simulation Profile in OrCAD Capture


(PSpice Student Version 9.1)

How to Setup a Simulation Profile
• Select the schematic capture that you want to simulate
• Make this schematic capture root by right clicking and selecting “Make Root”.

• Go to PSpice menu in the main Capture window and select “New Simulation Profile”
option.

• A window will pop up asking for the name of the profile. Enter a descriptive name

• Another window with analysis options will appear. You can choose the type analysis to
be one of: Time Domain, AC Sweep, DC Sweep, Bias Point

• Now you must select the library which contains models for the devices being used in the
simulations

• The newly setup simulation profile will appear under “Simulation Profiles” in “PSpice
Resources”
• Right-click on the desired simulation profiles, you are presented with options to either
edit or simulate the selected profile.

• Upon running the simulation, you will see the simulation results window
• Click on the Trace menu to choose which output to display

• You can also perform various functions on the simulation results

• Lastly, you can utilize cursors to read any specific point on the output waveforms as
shown below.
