President Marcos

I grew up in a Family that hate the Administration of Marcos .The Former President Marcos is one of the most
popular and powerful President of the Philippine History. He used his authority very powerfully but he took so much
advantage of it. Yes, every President must do something to our Economy. He built the LRT, San Juanico Bridge,
kidney Institute, Philippine Heart Center and ETC. But it’s too little for our Economy.

I read an Article in Daily Inquirer from Nick Davies. He read all Repots, interviewed a lot of people, and look at the
Custom Record. He revealed what happened to the Marcos millions and so much corrupt things he done.
According to the Philippine Commission on Good Government (PCGG) Marcos is the biggest theft in History.
He ruined our Economy during Martial law. In the beginning he just doing some small time theft. But then ,No one
can’t stop him. He exercised absolute Power.

At his term any sign of opposition is dangerous. He killed and Imprison his opponents. He took control of the
Media, Courts and suspended Human Rights.
An estimated 34,000 trade Unionist, Students, Leaders, Writers, Politician were tortured with Electric Shock,
heated Iron, and Rape.
Some of 3,200 men and women were killed and dumped were the body could be seen by the Public.
A total of 398 people just Disappeared.

He stole Manila Electric Corporation (Meralco), Marcos only paid $220 but it was worth $400 million.
He used some gangster tactics. He took over Companies and Sugar Industry.

He stole what should belong to the people. He stole International aid money, Gold from Central Bank, Loans from
International Banks, and Military Aid. Marcos Raided the Philippine Treasury.

Deeper in the vault of the Central bank is a large Collection of Imelda’s jewels
A single Piece of Imelda’s Jewel could pay for 22,000 young Filipinos to go through the College.

In Hawaii’s Court, Marcos was guilty of abusing the Human Rights of a thousand who have been killed and tortured.
They ordered Marcos to pay nearly $2 million but only less than 1% has been paid.
So far PCGG has recovered $3.7 billion, which is less than Half of estimated of what Marcos took.

Marcos died in Exile Hawaii in 1989 and President Cory refuse the body to go back to the Philippines but in 1992
President Ramos and Alunman have an agreement. They have 4 conditions set by the Government for the returns of
the Marcos Body:

 The body would be flown straight from Hawaii to Ilocos Norte Province
 Marcos be fitting a major his last Rank in The Armed forces of the Philippines
 Marcos body would not be paraded in Metro Manila
 There would be no burial in Libingan ng mga Bayan

The wounds are still Fresh in the minds of many People and we could not afford Bloodshed and Instability on
their watch.

How this person can be a hero?
