5_Spatial Kinetics of Rigid Bodies

A uniform slender shaft AH of negligible mass is bent as shown in Figure Q5(b). It

carries two thin discs, one circular and the other square, each of mass 1.2 kg. The
shaft is rotating with the constant angular velocity  = 3 rad/s while the discs are
spinning at the rate p = 2 rad/s relative to the shaft. (i) Determine the dynamic reaction
at the bearing at C. (ii) Based on your above solution, does the dynamic reaction at
the support C depend on the speed of rotation of the discs and/or their mass? Discuss
or explain about your answer. Support your reasoning by showing appropriate or
relevant principles of dynamics.
