What is a Flanged outlet?

Flanged outlet is special type of flanges manufactured by combining standard flange with
branch connections (such as nipolet, weldolet, elbolet, latrolet, and other “olet”).
Nipoflanges and weldoflanges, the two most common flanges outlets (or “flange olets”),
are used to branch pipelines at 90 degrees. This type of forged fittings are not available
from stock; when required, they need to made to order (expect long delivery times for all
flange outlets). Flanged outlets are manufactured from NPS 1/2″ to 12″ and rating from
150# to 2500#, RF or RTJ. The available schedules are 10S, STD, XS, 160 and XXS and
can be installed on run pipes from NPS 3/4″ up to 36″.

What are Nipoflanges?

Nipoflanges are used for branch pipelines at 90 degrees. They are a combination of a
weld neck flange and a nipolet. Nipo-flanges are forged products manufactured out of one
solid piece of steel and not different products welded together. The nipolet of the
nipoflange is welded onto the run-pipe and creates a 90 degrees branch; on the other side
of the nipoflange, the flange end connects to the branched pipe or to other devices
(example a valve, a pump or a compressor). Nipoflanges are available in different
materials, such as carbon steel ASTM A105 (high-temperature service), ASTM A350
(low-temperature carbon steel), ASTM A182 (stainless steel grades, including duplex and
super duplex) and nickel alloys (Inconel, Incoloy, Hastelloy, etc). Nipoflanges are

available in the reinforced type as well, which has additional mechanical strength
compared to the standard type.

What are Weldoflanges?

Weldoflanges are similar to nipoflanges, as that they are a combination between a weld
neck flange and a branch connection (a weldolet in this case). Weldoflanges are made out
of a single piece of solid forged steel, not by welding separate parts together.

TWO DIFFERENT PIPE BRANCH CONNECTIONS

On the run pipe side a nipoflange is designed like a weldolet. That means the branch
connection on the run pipe side is a welding connection. On the other side there it has a
flange connection. The flange connection can be designed according to customers
requirements (acc. To DIN or ANSI).

Standard and special materials

The Weldoflange and Nipoflange is a combination of a Welding Neck flange and a

supposedly Weldolet or Nipolet. The 2 components are manufactured in one piece, and
not welded. These flanges are primarily in Branch connections. Furthermore, they have
an expanded range of special flanges, fittings and branch connections.
