KICK START

THE PROJECT
Kickstart is a before school program supporting young
indigenous males in need of positive influence and provides
structural support with a strong focus on fitness and engaging
in the community.

Its aim is to:


* Improve attendance rates at school
* Reduce rates of offending by participants
* Improve the relationships of young persons with
local police and community mentors

THE RESULTS
* 86% report that they could ask for help from the
people who ran the Kick Start Program
* 71% feel they have more knowledge of the
importance of a healthy lifestyle.

TOMORROW’S STARS

THE PROJECT
The program supports female indigenous students in becoming
independent and resourceful young adults presented with the
knowledge and skills to make informed choices about their future.

It offers female students in years 7-12 an opportunity for one


on one mentoring to establish a career pathway to
transition from school into meaningful work,
traineeships or further education.

REPAIR TO RIDE
THE PROJECT
Repair to Ride engages indigenous students from low socio-economic backgrounds, teaching them to repair and
recondition old and broken bicycles which are then donated. It addresses common characteristics of adolescent
students from low socio-economic backgrounds including:

* Low aspirations and career choices * Reduced family support


* Low self-confidence * Reduced rates of school completion
