Rules & Formal Law

Regulations and laws set out to control the operations of the competition i-FINOG 2018. In these
regulations, "we" refers to the organiser which is International Festival of Innovation on Green
Technology. "You" refer to the eligible participants.

GENERAL PROVISIONS
It is advisable to learn and fully understand the details for each category of the contest before
registering as each of competitions that may have unique requirements and content at any time and
it is your responsibility to comply with all the policies to set out in this regulation.

If there is any conflict between the clauses in these official rules, and the corresponding clause in
the Specific Competition Rules, these official rules shall govern.

OBJECTIVE OF I-FINOG
This program i-FINOG 2018 enables student to develop and hone their creativity and innovation
through competition, innovation and creativity in addition to cultivating a culture of competitive and
sustainable innovation among students. The aim of this program is to give an impact and benefits
directly to the community as well as industry. Apart from that, this program can also cultivate the
ability to work in teams "Working Team" consist of participants with various backgrounds.

In addition, the program is also able to inculcate the ability to work in a team "Team Work" that
made up of participants who have a variety of backgrounds, and also to cultivate attentive and”
inquisitiveness” students, students need in particular and problems around of the society, they don’t
miss to encourage students to venture into entrepreneurship so that career is in future more
competitive and resilient.

DESCRIPTION OF I-FINOG
International Festival of Innovation on Green Technology will implement three categories of
competitions, exhibitions and seminars relating to science, technology and innovation, which are

Genius Creative Transformation, Green Youth Inventor and Ingenuity Engineering Design for Social
Life. [Please refer to the Specific Contest Rules for more information].

Social Life

ELIGIBILITY
Other than that stated in the Specific Competition Rules, you are eligible to join if you follow
the following conditions:

• There are no ages limit as long as you are active students in an accredited educational
institution either primary school, secondary school or college/university (or equivalent;
including home schools); and
• You are a Malaysian citizen or non-citizen; and
• You are not involved in any part of the execution or administration of this competition.

PARTICIPATION
I. Each group MUST have an ESCORT group.

II. The closing date for the activities must be implemented during the International Festival
Innovation on Green Technology (i-FINOG 2018) is 4 weeks prior to the day of the contest,
on 22 March 2018 and any entries after this deadline WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED;

III. Each interested institution is eligible to participate in MORE THAN ONE category without
any MAXIMUM LIMIT.

IV. If any group WITHDREW before the deadline stated then, the groups should INFORM
the organizer immediately.
V. Organizing Committee reserves the right to accept or refuse entry without explanation.
VI. The institution is REQUIRED to fill out the attached registration form together with the
invitation.
VII. Entry forms shall be sent by email to confirm the entry.
VIII. Any change in the name and number of participants must be notified that not later than
4 weeks prior to the day of the contest.
IX. Any change to the title and the category of the CANNOT BE made after the
project closing date.

FEES
I. A fee does not include accommodation and transport with the exception of
INSTITUTIONS of HIGHER LEARNING in and outside the country. [Please refer to the
Specific Competition Rules for the amount of the fees].

II. Participation fee must be paid before the registration day of the competition on campus.
The registration fee in cash/postal order/cheque/bank draft must be paid in the name of
UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA PAHANG's Islamic banks.

III. The institution SHALL submit the proof of payment to the Organising Committee before
the day of registration. The institutions are REQUIRED to complete the form of proof of
payment of the fees that is attached together with the invitation or can be found on the
official portal of "finog.ump.edu.my" or Facebook page: “International Festival of
Innovation on Green Technology – i-FINOG 2018”

with link www.facebook.com/iFINOGUMP and attach a copy of proof of payment such as


a receipt/bank statement.

IV. Cheque or other documents with the form proof of payment and send to our
email address “ifinog@ump.edu.my”.

V. The groups that FAIL to submit the form of proof of payment with proof of payment
before the competition likely would not be allowed to participate in this competition.
VI. Organizer WON'T RETURN the money if the group want to fee withdrew after payment
the money from fees and DEDUCT 10% of the fee if the Group would like to abstain after
payment is settled and before the closing date.
VII. The organiser shall LEVY a CHARGE of 10% of the fee if the group would like to withdraw
before the payment is settled and before the closing date.
GENERAL STANDARDS
I. Each group is REQUIRED to submit proposals for their inventions as the
requirements/competitions respectively.
II. Each group was REQUIRED to submit ABSTRACTS of their innovation to the Organizer a

month before the date of the contest to our e-mail address “ifinog@ump.edu.my”.

III. Innovations must be original and never be commercial, exhibited or forwarded to


the manufacturing sector.
IV. Adaptation of existing ideas improvement may be applicable as long as the aspect of
the main factor of improvement is the result of creativity.

V. Inventions/innovations can be implemented in the form of pro-series, commercial


samples, prototypes, models, drawings, photos and plan text. Poster must be in A1
size.

VI. Any entries that have been submitted in any competition outside before or appears to
replicate/fake the idea is NOT eligible to participate in this competition. The Secretariat
of the competition available to refuse the participation or withdraw any form of gift
which is obtained if the participants were found to produce similar entries before this
competition.

OTHERS
I. Participant or representative must be at the exhibition venue throughout the programme.

II. Failure to comply with these terms and conditions may cause the organizers to withdraw
the awards received.

III. The decision of the jury panel are FINAL. Participants must contend on the results panel or
committee organizers. The organiser reserves the right to amend/add/deduct any
regulations or conditions for the purpose of smooth and continuity in this competition.

IV. Organising Committee will not be responsible to manage, transport or storage of goods.
Organising Committee will not be responsible for any damage or loss of goods.

V. Participants shall not be entitled to claim costs or damages if there is any loss, expenses or
damage arising, or in connection with the management of the organization and also the
results of the competition.
VI. Logistic equipment such as speaker, bunting, a projector, and others associated with
the presentation of the product/project is the RESPONSIBILITY of the respective group.
VII. Each participant MUST follow the code of ethics of the respective institution's clothes or
dressed like wearing a t-shirt, pants, tie and slack off shoes dark. Each escort MUST also be
well-dressed.

VIII. Each group MUST also take care of the competition area and equipment provided well, litter
in and adhere to the general rules.

IX. Every idea or innovation got collaborate with UMP for the realization of the ideas and
products that were displayed during the program "International Festival Innovation on
Green Technology (I-FINOG 2018)".
X. Any university property damage will be liable to a FINE.

AWARDS AND PRIZES


I. The maximum score is 100%.

II. Each team got to award-winning gold or silver or Bronze or Consolation based on percentage
marks obtained. [Please refer to the Specific Contest Rules for more information]

IV. Each group will get only one prizes which are one medal and one certificate of
appreciation for the winner. However, other students may get the prizes by fill the forms
that we are gives during registration. The prices for each prizes are mention at the forms.
V. Certificate and a bag of goodies will be given to all the participants.
