Please describe the intervention you would like to implement at your school.

Our school is implementing two new approaches to 4th grade math. 1st was creating and utilizing
higher order thinking questions. Growing students ability to think and discuss math topics. The
second approach is to utilize leveled groups to facilitate differentiated instruction for individual
students.

What are the intended outcomes?

- Stronger understanding of math curriculum by 4th grade students leading to stronger EOG
scores
- Teacher creating and using more higher order thinking questions
- Students using more problem solving skills to understand math skills
- Leveled differentiated instruction leading to strong growth scores
- Stronger working PLC’s learning new ways to teach

Please describe the intervention you would like to implement at your school.
Our school has just implemented a new technology professional development program for
teachers. Every teacher in our school is required to participate in the following professional
development sessions this school year: project-based learning, Web 2.0, content-specific web-
based resources, SmartBoard in the Classroom. Additionally, teachers in grade-level groups will
be participating in collaborative planning sessions for a cross-curricular project each semester.

What are the intended outcomes?

Teachers improve technology skills, use new digital resources, create interdisciplinary lessons, and
work together in learning communities. Teachers change instructional practice and student
learning improves.
