Part B:
I think Opticians can benefit me as another health care professional by giving me a different outside perspective of certain areas.
Massage therapists have decent knowledge on the overall body but very little on just the eyes themselves and all the possible
pathologies. Opticians focus on solely the eyes and their pathologies, this might help gain insight on disorders and or issues
pertaining to our mutual patients that I might not have noticed or realized to provide even better care for patients. It would also help
me gain more knowledge on future possible situations to better understand my patients and what their needs are.
only clients going through chronic pain but to clients experiencing life stress who need emotional healing. Their knowledge of
anatomy and acupuncture points benefits their clients to receiving the best care possible when receiving treatment.
Massage therapy and acupuncture can work wonderfully together, both are non-traditional ways of treatment to those going
through illness or pain. They can mutually benefit and compliment each other by providing different ways of alleviating unwanted
symptoms associated with each patient and working together on a common goal; treating and improving the client. For example, a
person who is undergoing chemotherapy may want to add more un-conventional ways to help them through the process of healing.
Massage can be used to alleviate soreness and improve mental well-being while acupuncture can be utilized as well to help decrease
the adverse side effects of chemotherapy. The benefit that acupuncture provides massage therapy is the mutual understanding and
desire of both parties to help the client as well as Acupuncturists extensive anatomical knowledge to help discuss different ways and
viewpoints of treatment for us to stay current in both professions. I believe having conversations and gaining an overall
understanding of each other’s professions helps all professionals in knowing each other’s scopes of practice and how we can work
together to help clients as effectively possible.
Massage therapy not only can treat pain and dysfunctions but it also helps with the relaxation and mental aspect of well-being too.
Massage therapy could be a great combination to those already seeking treatment for mental disorders through psychotherapy.
Psychotherapy can benefit us by giving us as massage therapists a greater understanding and knowledge base of some mental
disorders that some of our clients in present or future situations might have. Health is not only physical but mental as well and a lot
of the public still fails to realize this. By working together and having conversations about treatment with other health care
professionals like Psychotherapists can help both sides gain perspective and gives us a great ability to educate and assist the public.
