ICMS Supervisors/Safety Officers will inspect scaffolding/access equipment at the start
of every shift.
Any work not from fixed gantries/approved scaffold/ scaffold with a yellow tag or
equivalent, will require the use of safety harnesses. Harnesses will incorporate double
lanyards, where access/egress/movement at height poses significant risk. Lanyards are
to be secured to approve anchor points only.
Ladders are to be used for access and egress only, unless their use is specifically risk
assessed & approved by the client. All ladders are to be tied/footed as required and
protrude 1.1M above any landing.
Where necessary ICMS will haul plant/equipment to positions & use suitable bags/tools.
Loose equipment will not be carried on any ladders.
Client to advise with reference to any potentially weak or corroded surfaces
Surfaces to be inspected prior to starting work
Where necessary temporary access equipment and/or fall arrest equipment will be used.
Operatives to be advised to remain vigilant & stop work where necessary reporting any
concerns.

Safe access and egress and working areas to be provided into and inside the vessel i.e.
ladders, scaffolds etc. Where necessary, mechanical or pneumatic winches may be used
with a manual backup facility.
Where required suitable lighting will be supplied in vessels. Any temporary lighting
