'Men love to wonder and that is the seed of science'- Ralph Waldo

Emerson
From the begining of the world humans loved to explore.Their desire to explore new
stuff and ponder upon the miracles of nature can't be described in words. This
desire to conquer the unknown and find the truths of nature has led man to discover
science. Science has completely changed the scenerio of the world since the start-
ing of 21st century. Its quite unbelievable what man has become capable of.The
phenomenal development of modern technology and the spectacular successes of
researchers
in various branches of science are the bases of all those remarkable things which
have sprung from the brains of our scientists.. In fact these brains are the
perenn-
ialsource of the miraculous wonders which appeared in the form of television,
telescope, computer, robot, spacecraft, and aeroplane, to name a few.
'Science is simply the word we use to describe a method of organizing
our curosity'- Tim Minchin
Science has produced such state-of-the-art equipment which can probe the depth of
the ocean as well can measure the height between earth and other planets of the sol
-ar system to find out the possibilities for the existence of life on them. Science
has produced such advanced technologies which have directly or indirectly contrib-
uted to enhancing the life expectancy of the human beings. Diseases like plague,
TB, chickenpox, etc. no longer remain horrible.
'Science is the knowledge of consequences, and dependence of one fact
on another.' -Thomas Hobbes
They are completely curable. Science, to some extent has overwhelmed the forces of
nature. Our meteorologists can forecast the mood of nature. They can draw out str-
ategies in advance to combat the evil empact of storms or hurricanes. The invention
of mechanical man or robot as it is popularly called is one of greatest wonders of
science in recent times. The days are not far when these mechanical men would
replace the human labour and intellectual skill making human life less fatiguing
and much
more comfortable. In the field of commerce and industry the electronic machines are
doing wonderful service the astonishing speed and accuracy with which this machine
work is really apreciable. Vast accounts of data can be handled effectively and
efficiently at a very fast rate.
'The science of today is the technology of tomorrow.'- Edward Teller
Computers have taken up key roles in all fields of activity including banking,
railways, share markets, scientific research, weather forecast, agriculture,
designing,
space research and technology, communication and media, medical science, aviation,
traffic control, language learning, literature and many more. An invention of mirac
ulous dimensions, computer today has become indispensable for human beings.
'Science is a beautiful gift to humanity;we should not distort it.'- Abdul
Kalam
TV transmission is one of those marvels of modern science which has brought about
immense change in society. The intimate associations of viewers mould and shape
their
life in a thousand different ways. No other mass media is as effective a catalyst
of change in the life of modern man as is TV today. During the last half century,
it
has almost reshaped our civilisation and ushered us into a world that is far more
different from that of our ancestors.

'If we dont lay ourselves in the service of mankind, whom should we serve?'-

Abigail Adams
TV is a media so powerful that it can instantly mould public opinion, bring far
reaching policy reversals of governments and even push into seats of power little
known
personalities after boosting their election prospects with the most effective use
of its image making and propaganda channel. The impact of TV, radio, and cinema has

crept into the thinking, feeling and reasoning faculties of the vast section of
their users.
'The universe does not give you what you ask for with your thoughts; it gives
you what you demand with your actions'-Dr.Steve Maraboli
One of the delightful curiosities of science is the mechanism of spacecraft. It can
circle around our earth at a stunning speed of hundreds of miles per second. One
such spacecraft Discovery very recently completed its successful round to space
with renowned astronaut Suita Williams. The cosmonaut who was comfortably housed in
his
capsule could man its flight himself or leave it to the built-in automatic control
system to pilot it through the immensity of space and he could be enjoying his time

in doing the works of his choice.

'Superstition is the death of a thinking mind'- Dr T.P Chia
There is no denying the fact that intrusion of science in our day-to-day life has
helped in removing superstition and obscurantism. It has developed in man a habit
of logical reasoning. It has shaped a mental attitude based on scientific
perspective. Now he sees everything on the basis of logic and reasoning. Hence, it
has contributed in producing scientific temperament.

Science has completely changed our life. It has turned the world into a small
village, i.e. time and distance no longer remain barriers. Thus, humanity is
immensely indebted to the remarkable achievements of the tireless work of the men
of soaring ambition-scientists.The achievements of science in the spheres of
industry, agriculture, entertainment, education, medicine and space research by
inventive geniuses and resourceful scientists have undoubtedly made our life happy
and comfortable.
'There are those much more rare people who never lose their curiosity,
their almost child like wonder in the world;
those people who continue to learn and to grow intellectually until the
day they die.And these usually are the
the people who make contribution, who leave some part of the world a
little better off than it was before they
entered it' Willaim Herbert Sheldon
