SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS - MONTGOMERY PUBLIC SCHOOLS,
MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 Master’s degree or higher with commensurate experience and education necessary to obtain Alabama Teacher Certification in
educational leadership or educational supervision and administration
 Five (5) or more years of proven administrative/supervisory experience preferred
 Experience working in a high poverty district

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

The Montgomery County Board of Education is a diverse county-wide district that serves more than 29,000 students in 54 schools
with over 3,500 full-time employees and has an annual operating budget in excess of $300 million. The Board seeks a visionary
educational leader dedicated to progressing the current programs of the district, improving learning for all of its students, and
providing support for its employees. The successful candidate will have the following demonstrated qualifications:

 Ability to implement the Board’s adopted strategic plan

 Demonstrated experience in improving student achievement, parental involvement, and staff support
 Collaborative and team-oriented leadership style
 Open and effective verbal and written communication skills
 Commitment to develop and maintain positive relationships with the Board, staff, parents, students and the community
 Experience in fiscal, personnel, and operations management
 Knowledge of research-based curriculum and instructional methods for the K-12 system
 Demonstrated ability to hold all stakeholders accountable

SALARY: The Board will offer a compensation package that is regionally competitive
