Introduction
The Digital Experience VM Appliance is a comprehensive package of most of the WebCenter solutions.
Included in this VM are the latest Oracle Fusion Middlware 11gR1 products of 2014:

 Oracle Enterprise Linux 7

 Oracle Database 12.1.0.1.0 (Enterprise Edition)

 Oracle Weblogic Server 12c 12.2.1

 Oracle WebCenter Sites 12.2.1

 Oracle WebCenter Portal 12.2.1

 Oracle WebCenter Content 12.2.1

 Oracle WebCenter Content UI 12.2.1

 Oracle Enterprise Capture 12.2.1

 Oracle Business Process Management 12.2.1

 Oracle SOA Suite 12.2.1

 Oracle HTTP Server 12c

Prerequisite: Run VirtualBox

 Install latest version of Virtual Box and associated Guest Additions

 https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

 50GB of disk storage needed for VM and 6GB minimum memory. (8Gb Recommended)

 Run VirtualBox. Go to File -> Import Appliance

 Select “DX12cV2.ova” file

 Click Import

Prerequisite: Run 7zip v9.2 or Higher

 Install latest version of 7zip to extract the downloaded zip files

Prerequisite: Update VirtualBox Guest Settings

 Check Appliance settings, and make changes to the following fields if necessary:

 CPU – 4 at least

 RAM – 8 GB minimum, HIGHER Recommended

 Post Import of the Appliance -

 Most should have been already set for you. Read the note below to adjust for your
hardware.

 Make sure that the OS is set to Oracle (64 bit) before starting the VM.

Network Setttings:

Specify the Network Settings for Adapter 1 to NAT.

Please update Port Forward Rules as needed.

If you want to access the guest for shell access, you have to create a new Rule and forward Port 22 for
Guest and a specified port of the Host (i.e Port 22)

Prerequisite: Update System HOSTS file

In order to access the web applications, update your system Windows HOSTS file located at

C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

For Linux HOSTS File, its the /etc/hosts file with root user

Update the entry:

127.0.0.1 content

Digital Experience VM Users and Login

You are automatically logged in as user oracle. User oracle has sudo access. There are two accounts to
login with the VM:

 User: oracle Password: welcome1

 User: root Password: welcome1

Automatic Start of Services

Once the OS is started, it will automatically start Oracle DB, DB Listener and Weblogic Node Manager.

Menu System

Once logged in as user oracle, type in dxmenu command to see the menu program :

[oracle@content ~]$ dxmenu

The Digital Experience menu program will start which will give you the option to start the services you
need for your tasks.

This will give the options to start and stop the servers you need.

Start and Stop Services Manually

To start and stop any of the services, you can do so using the OS service command.

1. Oracle DB 12c

Start: [oracle@content ~] sudo systemctl start dbora

Stop: [oracle@content ~] sudo systemctl stop dbora

2. WebLogic Node Manager:

Start:

1. [oracle@content ~] cd /app/domain/content/bin

Stop:
