Surface King Tack & Prime Coat Applications With Asphalt Emulsions

Prime Coat
Prime coats protect the integrity of the
granular base during construction and
help reduce dust. In the case of a
base which is to be covered with a
thin hot mix layer or a chip seal for a
low volume roadway, priming ensures
a good bond between the seal and
the underlying surface which
otherwise would have a tendency to
delaminate.

Slow-setting grades of asphalt

emulsions (diluted with water before
application) are suitable type of
emulsion is most suitable prime. With
dense granular bases, or stabilized
bases the surface may need to be broken up by scarifying before application, to ensure good penetration.

A prime coat performs several important functions.

 The major purpose of prime coat is to protect the underlying layers from wet weather by providing a
temporary waterproofing layer.
 Additional benefits of prime coat are stabilizing or binding the surface fines together and promoting bond
to the HMA layer.
 Prime must adequately penetrate the base to function properly.
 Medium cure cutbacks are normally used for prime. Medium cure cutback asphalts penetrate deeper than
conventional emulsified asphalts. Dilution of emulsified asphalts with water helps penetration but
emulsified asphalts generally require mixing into the base to function properly.
 Prime coats need to be allowed to cure completely before covering with HMA. Cutbacks generally take
longer to cure than asphalt emulsions.
 Excess prime not absorbed into the base after 24 hours should be absorbed with blotter sand and
removed from the surface.
 Prime is often deleted in cold weather because it is riskier to pave over uncured prime than over unprimed
base.
 Prime coats are often deleted if no wet weather is anticipated and the base can be covered within seven
days. Prime may not be necessary if the HMA is greater than 100 mm (4 in) thick.
 Prime coat increased the bond strength at the interface between a compacted base and asphalt layer over
that of no prime coat. The reported differences were not always statistically significant.
 At higher static normal stresses, shear strength at the interface is not appreciably affected by the type or
even the presence of a prime coat. This supports the practice of deleting prime at a minimum HMA
thickness, typically 100 mm (4 in).
 Use of prime coat is not a substitute for maintaining the specified condition of the base or subgrade.
Prime should not be applied to stabilized bases or subgrade.
 The main environmental concern with prime coat applications is air pollution associated with the release of
VOCs into the air.
 The EPA treats spills of cutbacks and emulsified asphalts the same; therefore, priming with emulsified
asphalts or specially formulated penetrating asphalt emulsions does not result in reduced oil spill reporting
regulations or requirements.
 Deleting prime would lessen the amount of liquid asphalt contractors must handle, lessening the
associated liability with handling these products.
 Prime may be omitted if there is a strong possibility of runoff entering a waterway.
Tack Coat
Tack coat (also known as bond coat) is light spray application of diluted asphalt emulsion between hot mix asphalt
layers designed to create a strong adhesive bond without slippage. Heavier applications may be used under
porous layers or around patches where it also functions as a seal coat. Without tack coat the asphalt layers in a
road way may separate which reduces the structural integrity of the road and may also allow water to penetrate
the structure.

The type of emulsion used for tack coats varies from country to country. Normal practice in the USA is to use a
slow-setting emulsion that is diluted with water before application. In many European countries cationic rapid
setting or specially designated low viscosity medium setting emulsions are used, which are applied undiluted.

The functions performed by Tack Coat are:

 The purpose of tack coat is to ensure bond between the existing pavement surface and a new pavement
surface.
 A loss of bond between HMA layers can cause crescent-shaped slippage cracks or debonding to occur,
leading to reduced pavement life.
 Prior to tack application the surface should be clean, dry and free from loose material.
 Applying tack is not a substitute for properly cleaning the existing HMA surface.
 Tack coat should be applied in a thin coat and uniformly cover the entire surface, including all vertical
surfaces of joints and structures. Too little tack coat can cause debonding and too much tack coat can
cause slippage.
 If possible, all traffic should be kept off tacked surfaces.
 Tack should be applied to old existing HMA surfaces and PCC surfaces.
 Tack has been successfully deleted between new lifts of HMA when the existing surface is still clean and
tacky.
 There is not complete agreement regarding the requirement that tack coat be allowed to break and set
before placing the HMA layer.
 Many factors were shown to affect laboratory interface shear strength, including rate of shear, magnitude
of normal force, temperature and joint construction.
 In a few studies, tacked surfaces were shown to have slightly lower interface shear strengths than
untacked surfaces. However, in these studies the statistical significance of the difference in interface shear
strength was not reported. In reports where the statistical significance of the differences in interface shear
strength was evaluated, tacked interfaces were either stronger or not significantly different from untacked
interfaces.
 The higher the viscosity of the bituminous binder in the tack, the higher the reported interface shear
strength.
 At typically specified application rates, application rate had little effect on interface shear strength. Higher
than recommended application rates resulted in slightly lower interface shear strengths.
 Diluted slow set emulsions are typically used for tack coat.

Asphalt Resurfacing by Surface King

When interconnected asphalt cracks in
your parking lot begin appearing, it's time to
begin thinking of a repair or maintenance
solution. The problem is that when the
asphalt starts cracking and is left
unrepaired, water settles into those cracks,
they expand, and eventually required
reparations become extensive. Caught in
time, however, typical asphalt crack repairs
can be as simple as a sealcoating job or a
basic asphalt resurfacing, or overlay.

As opposed to mix and mill, which recycles

the asphalt surface and the base layer,
asphalt overlay is the placement of hot mix
asphalt over existing asphalt. This type of
crack repair typically starts with an asphalt
emulsion tack coat to ensure proper
bonding of the old asphalt layer to the new one and then applying the new layer of asphalt on top of the old. As soon as
the freshly laid hot asphalt mix is compacted and begins to cool, the curing process begins and the new pavement
becomes firm.

Resurfacing can give your parking lot or roadway the look and feel of new pavement; it can also extend the lifespan of
the pavement without the expense and inconvenience of removing and replacing the entire area. However, resurfacing
should not be confused with seal coating, which merely involves spraying a protective product on the surface of the
asphalt.

Subsequent to asphalt resurfacing and curing, it is recommended that the new surface be seal coated. Sealcoating
limits the overlay’s exposure to the elements and protects the area from gas and oil drippings, sun, salt, and water
penetration. Surface King recommends sealing the area 9 to 12 months after the asphalt has cured and every 24-36
months thereafter.

Asphalt resurfacing is not always a viable option. In situations such as significant structural deterioration, an inadequate
sub-base, poor drainage conditions, or areas that have been resurfaced several times previously, resurfacing may not
be advisable. In other cases, resurfacing can only be recommended when combined with options such as grinding, the
addition of geotextile fabric or full-depth repairs.

Prior to an asphalt overlay, we will make all necessary repairs to ensure the best possible finished product. Every
asphalt resurfacing job that we do carries with it an experienced asphalt installation team, whose purpose is to deliver a
quality job, on time and within budget. We'll work closely with you to ensure that your asphalt resurfacing project is
closely managed and supervised and exceeds your expectations.
Contractor’s Asphalt Tip
An overlay should never be done on a surface that is severely cracked, is crumbling or has spots that are significantly
sunken. The new layer of asphalt will simply follow the path of the original layer. Within a short period of time, cracks,
defects and depressions will form in the exact same areas as the original surface. When this happens, the surface will
be just as damaged as it was before the overlay was applied. It may be difficult to determine whether or not resurfacing
will work for your asphalt surface. Call our experienced professionals and ask them to evaluate the project for you. Our
paving specialists can determine whether or not an overlay can be used on your surface.

After a careful evaluation of your existing pavement, our expert estimators will recommend the best options for your
situation. Have a Surface King expert evaluate your asphalt's condition and make recommendations on your best
course of action.

Asphalt Milling Services by Surface King

When the base course of your parking
lot remains in good condition but the
asphalt layer has failed to a large
extent, asphalt milling is an effective
way to bring your pavement back to
"like-new" condition at minimal
expense. Asphalt milling prepares
municipality roads and streets for
resurfacing by removing some of the
existing asphalt.

The milling process is the controlled

removal of asphalt or concrete
pavement to a predetermined depth,
slope and/or specified thickness. This
process is often used to improve
drainage flow and remove pavement
irregularities. It is also used to remove
deteriorated pavements for patching, overlaying or to re-establish proper profile for the existing and/or new
concrete curb and gutter. Surface King can effectively handle any size milling job. With precision we can mill from
one inch to one foot of asphalt and aggregate base. Our refined milling process makes removal much quicker,
cleaner, and cost effective.

Asphalt milling is a great alternative to complete asphalt removal, which can be costly and laborious. By grinding
the asphalt, you are left with a cleaner surface to which the new asphalt can adhere. Milling is also a less wasteful
process than complete removal because the milled asphalt can be recycled for use in other projects. From smaller
utility-type work to complete restoration of a parking lot, we have the experience and proper equipment to handle
any type of milling and paving project. Surface King's highway-class sonic-controlled milling machine restores the
asphalt surface area to a specific predetermined profile to ensure proper overlay or reconstruction and profile for
better drainage.
About the Asphalt Milling Process
The milling machine is equipped with a cutting mandrel which is designed to move the milled material to the center
of the mandrel or drum where it drops on to a conveyor. The milled material can then be placed either on the
ground or loaded into trucks. The conveyor has the capability to swing right or left to place the material directly on
the shoulder of a roadway or directly into trucks to be hauled away.

Once it is loaded into trucks, it can be utilized in a number of different ways. It is common to haul the milled
material to a hot plant to be incorporated into the hot mix being placed back on the roadway. This is what is known
as hot plant recycling. It can also be stockpiled and incorporated into a hot plant recycle process at a later date. If
the existing asphalt surfacing is deteriorated to the point where it has been determined that is cannot be utilized in
a hot plant recycling process, it is commonly used as shoulder backing material or as a base material. In those
instances, it can be placed directly on the shoulder as previously mentioned, or it can be placed in trucks and
hauled to designated areas.

Another important use of milled material is in the stationary cold recycling process. The major difference between
cold in-place recycling and stationary cold recycling is the asphalt pavement that is milled or removed from the
roadway is hauled to a stockpile site and processed at a later date. This recycled material can be laid and
compacted on another roadway or it can be left in a stockpile for later use. Different recycling agents can be used
which will determine how quickly the recycled material will set up. If the recycled material is going to be left in
stockpile for later use, the proper recycling agent will allow it to remain in a stockpile for a period of time.

The workhorse in all of this is the asphalt milling machine or rotomill. These are high horsepower machines
capable of removing up to 10" (250 mm) of asphalt surfacing at one time. The rotomill has been an important tool
in roadway rehabilitation for over 25 years. Owners and specifiers have long ago realized that existing asphalt
surfacing has a value and can readily be recycled. Cold milling will always be an important element of the roadway
rehabilitation industry.

Whether your project calls for full-depth milling for complete asphalt pavement removal or partial-depth milling for
pavement maintenance filling applications, Specialties starts each project by analyzing customer requirements and
then applying our engineering expertise to recommend the appropriate milling solution.

Surface King Asphalt Repairs, Resurfacing & Overlays

Your parking area is the first
impression a visitor has to your
business. Is your parking area clean,
sealed and well maintained or does it
have potholes, parking lines that you
can hardly see and asphalt that is
grey and oxidizing? Asphalt repairs
may be necessary due to safety
concerns or for aesthetic reasons of
the property owner. When it's time to
have your pavement professionally
repaired, call Surface King.

Those small cracks and depressions

in your asphalt can cause a
considerable amount of destruction.
They provide places for water to work
its way into and under the pavement
and cause base erosion. When that water freezes in the winter, it expands, cracking apart the asphalt and even
heaving up whole sections of the asphalt installation.

The three main repairs that can be done on asphalt surfaces are crack repair, pothole patching, and surface
overlayment. While crack repair and pothole patching are relatively minor (but important) maintenance procedures,
overlayment is a more major task that may be undertaken if problems with the surface are widespread but the
base layer is still in good condition.
Crack Repair
Crack repair is an essential asphalt maintenance procedure since water penetration is the worst complication for
asphalt. The best defense against water intrusion is crack repair. Cracks in asphalt commonly begin at the bottom
of the asphalt and work their way to the surface. Once a crack reaches the surface of your asphalt, the increased
volume of water able to reach the base can dramatically deteriorate the foundation, weakening your pavement and
causing "alligatoring" and potholes - which are more costly to repair. The intrusion of water is greatly reduced by
properly sealing the crack. If not repaired, the crack will continue to spread and the pavement will eventually
crumble. With proper maintenance including sealcoating and striping your asphalt can last much longer.

There are several reasons besides water erosion, why your asphalt may end up with cracks that require repair;
poor base layer, an asphalt layer that’s too thick or thin, incorrect drainage, heavy traffic, tree roots, and extreme
weather conditions. These reasons lead to:

 Fatigue or Alligator Cracks — Patterns of interconnected cracks

 Block Cracks — A series of large, fairly rectangular cracks
 Edge Cracks — Longitudinal cracks near the outside edge of the pavement
 Longitudinal Cracks — Often seen parallel to the pavement’s center line
 Transverse Cracks — Typically at right angles to the center line of the pavement
 Reflective Cracks — Usually located at joints in older layers of paving material
 Slippage Cracks — Due to a low quality asphalt mix or to poor bonding between layers

Pothole Patching
Potholes form in asphalt surfaces of parking lots, subdivisions and municipal roads due to the combined forces of
weather and traffic. These forces eventually allow rainwater to seep into the underlying dirt and gravel where the
problem can quickly grow worse. Potholes must be repaired early in order to prevent further deterioration and base
erosion.

 Surface Patching — Manual installation of new asphalt mix and compacting

 Partial Depth Repair — Mill the asphalt surface to a depth of 2-3 inches, then install new asphalt
 Full Depth Repair — Completely remove the failed asphalt to the base layer, then install the new asphalt

Asphalt Resurfacing & Overlays

An asphalt overlay can repair flaws and add new life to older asphalt by adding a second layer of asphalt over
existing pavement, giving your street or parking lot a brand-new appearance for less cost. Overlays can be put
down when the existing asphalt surface is in a generally good condition with minimal problem areas.

As opposed to mix and mill, which recycles the asphalt surface and the base layer, asphalt overlay is the
placement of hot mix asphalt over existing asphalt. This type of crack repair typically starts with an asphalt
emulsion tack coat to ensure proper bonding of the old asphalt layer to the new one and then applying the new
layer of asphalt on top of the old. As soon as the freshly laid hot asphalt mix is compacted and begins to cool, the
curing process begins and the new pavement becomes firm.

Subsequent to asphalt resurfacing and curing, it is recommended that the new surface be seal coated. Sealcoating
limits the overlay’s exposure to the elements and protects the area from gas and oil drippings, sun, salt, and water
penetration. Surface King recommends sealing the area 9 to 12 months after the asphalt has cured and every 24-
36 months thereafter.

A proper maintenance plan that includes asphalt repair, sealcoating and striping will make your parking lot inviting
to your clients and prolong the life of your pavement, putting off costly resurfacing for years.

Surface King Asphalt Durable Sealcoating

Sealcoating is the application of a
product over the top of asphalt
pavement to seal and protect it from
the elements. Asphalt sealer is a key
component in protecting asphalt and
extending the life of the asphalt
surface. Asphalt sealer helps to
beautify, slow oxidation, protect
against vegetation, protect against
water penetration (rain-snow-ice),
provides a barrier against oil & gas
spills, and protects against salt
damage and the damage of sunlight.

Sealcoating will greatly extend the life

of asphalt and give it that fresh newly
paved flat black look. Sealcoat also
provides new traction to old "raveled"
asphalt. Over time asphalt loses its strength and wears down making the aggregate in the asphalt appear on the
surface. The aggregate then becomes worn smooth and slippery when wet posing potentially dangerous driving
conditions. Our sealcoat has a heavy abrasive base material (silica sand) mixed in and gives a new texture to the
asphalt providing new traction to your asphalt.
When it comes to applying sealants, pavement maintenance contractors have several options. They can employ a
spray system (skid or trailer), a piece of ride-on equipment with squeegee and/or spray application options, or they
can apply the material by hand, using a squeegee or a broom.
Spray Sealcoating Preferred
We have found spraying sealcoat to be the best application, both industrially and commercially. What used to be
an industry controversy has become personal preference and manufacturers provide all the choice a contractor
needs. While spraying, you can control exactly how much material goes down and give the customer what the
product specifications and job demands. Spraying receives a bad reputation when the operator intentionally or
excessively thins the material or just applies the material at a low application rate. The result is that sometimes
customers perceive that you cannot apply as much material with a spray machine as you can with a squeegee.
That perception is not reality.

Spraying on a second coat of sealer covers up and reinforces any imperfections. For example, when sealer dries it
contracts and leaves behind pin holes. The second coat of sealer fills in the holes, and doesn't take nearly the
amount of time or material that the first coat did. One coat seemingly does the job because it leaves the pavement
looking consistent and fresh in new appearance, but the purpose of sealing a drive or parking lot is to keep out
water. The second coat facilitates that.

When an asphalt sealcoat is sprayed on, it is applied in a very uniform pattern and is left on the surface of the
exposed aggregate giving the asphalt a long lasting protective layer, especially when two coats are applied.
Spraying sealcoat also penetrates deep into the small fines in the asphalt filling in the tiny pockets that hold
moisture and lead to breakdown. Not every job can be sprayed and in most cases, jobs that can be sprayed will
require a bit of broom, brush or squeegee work to be done around concrete and other areas where over-spray is a
factor.
Standard Material
Premium coal tar asphalt sealer is a clay stabilized, fuel resistant coal tar emulsion pavement sealer. Coal tar
asphalt sealer is fortified with surfactants to improve adhesion and asphalt durability. Coal tar asphalt sealant
material is made up of fillers, water, emulsifying agents, and additives.

Decorative Patterned Asphalt Stamping by Surface King
Traditional asphalt is popular for its
practicality, efficiency and low cost.
But people often find it boring and
unattractive. Stamped asphalt
pavements are popular alternatives to
brick paver surfaces and textured
concrete. It has become the preferred
cost-effective technique for adding
beautiful, inviting walkways and
entrances to a location. It is also
known as “StreetPrint” or pavement
texturing. By using state-of-the-art
equipment and application methods,
Surface King's striping technicians
can give your project a sleek, modern
look that will last for years. Surface
King's team of craftsmen have the
know-how to create asphalt surface
that comes as close to perfection as possible, whether it is paving a brand-new asphalt parking lot at any of a wide
variety of commercial, industrial, or educational facilities or simply improving an existing lot. Call between 8am and
6pm on weekdays and ask about our precise infrared heating asphalt stamping, decorative paving, pattern paving,
and decorative stamped asphalt experience. Use the contact form for direct texting to the foreman.
What is Decorative Stamped Asphalt?
Stamped asphalt is a decorative product which is made by transforming regular asphalt into imitation brick, stone,
or slate. The process involves the creation of an impression into an asphalt surface using a combination of heat, a
stamping template, and a plate compactor. Creating impressions in the asphalt can be achieved by working behind
a paver or reheating the asphalt with reheating equipment.

Using production details to explain, ordinary asphalt is imprinted (stamped) using a welded wire rope template
configured as a grid pattern that replicates the look of hand laid brick. There are two methods of stamping using a
template: (1) New asphalt application, and (2) Re-heat existing asphalt using the Thermotrack precise
reciprocating heater system. Either option the asphalt has to be warm within a specific temperature and pliable to
accommodate the template and achieve the proper imprint. After the template is depressed into the asphalt, it is
removed carefully. This process is repeated until completion. The final step is to apply the ULRA BOND UB 300
two-part epoxy coating system which protects, simulates the color and texture of real brick if the project requires.
Despite asphalt's dark nature, it can be colored many shades - ranging from soft, creamy colors, to warm, bold
colors. Painted asphalt lasts many years, but Surface King is asked frequently to recoat stamped asphalt done by
other contractors.
What are the Benefits of Stamped Asphalt?
Asphalt has a continuous surface unlike brick, which
inhibits weed growth, erosion, shifting problems
associated with freeze, thaw and vehicle movement.
Patterned asphalt is more flexible and repairable than
other systems and resists cracking. Also, because it is
still an asphalt surface, it benefits from a greater
durability over individual bricks. Overall cost is
dramatically less than other methods offering a similar
look, thus making stamped asphalt a more cost-effective
option.

 Decorative appeal over a plain surface

 Extends the life of the asphalt considerably
 Protects the asphalt from UV rays
 Is much cooler than traditional asphalt in the sun
 Is non-slick when wet and safe for wheel chairs

The Durability of Stamped Asphalt

Maintenance required with a stamped asphalt surface is minimal. No individual bricks need to be reset after a
tough winter’s freeze-thaw cycles. You don’t have to worry about pulling weeds that grow through the cracks of a
regular brick layout. Textured asphalt surfaces are excellent for crosswalks, shopping center walking plazas and
residential streets and driveways, to enhance any streetscape. The textured asphalt not only provides the
convenience of a tough driving surface but will help water drain through the grout lines more rapidly, providing
better traction in bad weather conditions.

From basic to intricate, we can simulate many types of masonry, stone and tile patterns, and it doesn’t stop there.
By using special stamping templates we can create wide and varied types of textures that work best for your
design objectives. All of our decorative stamped asphalt is installed by our trained professional crew. If you are
interested in getting a quote on your stamped asphalt project or to learn more, please contact us today and ask
about our precise infrared heating asphalt stamping, decorative paving, pattern paving, and decorative stamped
asphalt experience. Use the contact form for direct texting to the foreman. Discover the beauty, the benefits
and the advantages stamped asphalt has to offer.

Surface King Concrete Repair & Maintenance
Once concrete is installed it requires
routine maintenance as issues will
appear. Concrete curbs, sidewalks
and ramps are subject to abuse from
cars and trucks, heavy machinery,
and even trees and weather.
Regardless of the damage, many
times the only fix is to remove and
replace damaged concrete. Detail is
important with these projects –
ensuring everything goes back the
exact same way it came out. Or, if
directed to do so, making changes to
what is there in order to enhance the
attractiveness and/or safety.

The key to a long-lasting concrete

repair lies in bonding the old concrete
to the new material. Many facilities managers think that a new patching material will automatically ‘stick’ to the old
concrete, but it’s simply not true. It takes skill and experience to get the new concrete repair to work with the old
concrete installation. Surface King offer services that address these issues including:

 Power Grinding: Machines with diamond blades will grind off lips and lifts on concrete installations.

 Concrete Trip Fall Hazard Repair: Many sidewalks over time will heave or settle producing a rise or
depression between joints in concrete sidewalks, lead walks, patios etc. Left untreated these breaks
produce trip fall hazards. A trip / fall hazard produces unwanted liabilities for property managers and
owners.

 Cracked Concrete Repair: Cracked concrete could be the result of freeze / thaw damage, poor quality
concrete or the result of damage due to stress. The fact is, concrete cracks are the main reason
construction and expansion joints are placed in concrete, to control cracking once it starts. The underlying
cause of the crack or cracking, and the thickness of the cracks, will determine whether or not the area
should be repaired. An area of sidewalk that has obvious underlining problems such as tree root problems,
freeze/thaw, soft soil and the issues have caused cracks ½ inch or wider should be addressed.

 Concrete Temperature Change Damage Repair: Just about any aggregate material that is subjected to
vacillating temperatures will contract and then expand in cycle. The effect will usually show as cracks in
the concrete. Especially on sidewalks, rainwater will penetrate under the sidewalk and erode its integrity.
The temperature cycle will cause the ground under the sidewalk to expand pushing the sidewalk up. This
shows itself in the form of heaved sections of sidewalk. There are different techniques for dealing with
these issues but the most common repair is to remove and replace.

 Concrete Tree Root Damage Repair: Any new construction that has outside space will most likely have
sidewalk and landscaping as part of their site package. During the initial construction, the trees that are
installed are small. As those trees mature their roots grow and expand. If and when they run under a
sidewalk, they will exert upward pressure and cause the surrounding concrete to heave. This can and will
remain a chronic problem. Arriving at the best solution usually typically requires a site visit to determine
the best course of action. Our cutting to remove tree roots may involve the use of a stump grinder.
 Concrete Pitting Repair: All concrete will deteriorate over time. “Pitting” is the decay of the surface layer
of the cement. This is an obvious detail to diagnose — if you start to see the aggregate within the surface
you have pitting. Once pitting starts, it will usually expand at an exponential rate and require repair soon.
The obvious symptom is if the aggregate within the concrete begins to come loose and fall out. Like most
concrete repairs, the fix is to cut out the deteriorated area and replace it with new.

 ADA Compliance: There are certain federal standard guidelines that properties have to accommodate the
disabled and Surface King is intimately familiar with those regulations. It is critical that both the asphalt,
concrete curbs and handicap ramp be installed at a maximum and minimum slope percentage. State
and/or local inspectors will make certain that all handicap access is properly installed. Improper installation
will result in delaying the occupancy permit. This becomes even more important when working in a HUD
project as these types of issues can also delay funding expected from HUD.

Many building owners and homeowners wonder at what point they should abandon the option of concrete repair
and turn to a new concrete installation. This is a decision made more easily with a complete review and a report
from the Surface King experts. From repairs to installation of new or old curbs, sidewalks, aprons, and dumpster
pad installations, ADA compliant work, Surface King service is fast and professional. If your business or
subdivision is anywhere in Florida, our knowledgeable crews will handle your project from beginning to end.

Flat Concrete Services by Surface King

Concrete can provide a more cost-
effective solution to certain
infrastructure challenges. Concrete is
often used in areas where heavy
traffic and loads require a building
material that can withstand excess
weight and/or frequent use periods.
This is one of the reasons why
driveways are often constructed of
concrete. Likewise, dumpster pads
are usually best served by concrete
as they can withstand the weight
created by the force of a garbage
truck.
