To prepare the student, we will be developing the four essential skills (READING,
WRITING, LISTENING AND SPEAKING). There is a weakness regarding the PAST
TENSE. For the first class, we will be working on the following subject.
- Simple Past general rules (Brief explanation about the construction of the tense)
The student will be working on the regular and irregular verbs in the past tense. To ensure
she understands the difference in context, we will change sentences from one tense to
another.
As a reading comprehension activity, she will read a short paragraph and answer question
about the text. She will also complete sentences with the Past Tense.
To build confidence on the student, We will be working carefully on the pronunciation. For
listening, she will be learning the difference of the pronunciation of the ending sounds for
regular verbs.
To ensure the student's progress, a big part of the class will be lead by her speech. She
will express some experiences in her past as well as describing her experience learning
English. She will be given some present tense sentences and ask her to use the simple
past for the same sentences.
Finally, we will be checking on her progress as well as verifying if the method is the right
one for her. I will be asking the student if she feels comfortable with the pace or if she
would like to try a faster or slower rhythm of learning.
- Teacher´s Introduction
- Warm Up (What is your name, age?)
Introducing the vocabulary for the module 1 “interests” the student will look
pictures in a PowerPoint presentation and they will match the image with the word.
(LISTENING AND REPEAT)
Using the vocabulary for the unit the students will try to spell words given by the
teacher. This will help them work with the pronunciation of the letter. (Speaking)
Working individually, they will enter a role play of questions. Each one of them will
get a round of question for all the class and will write down the information giving by their
classmates. (Listening and Writing)
The students will be working the pronunciation of CAN and CAN´T along as
reviewing how to use the modal verb to build sentences and express interests.
