AMA Year 1 - 7 $121,970 -$167,344 pa pro rata

Job Description: The program provided by Postgraduate Training in Psychiatry, Western

Australia is overseen by the Branch Training Committee, Western Australia in accordance with
the requirements for obtaining Fellowship of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of
Psychiatrists. The training program provides for clinical and formal supervised training
experience in child & adolescent, adult, older adult, community, consultation liaison and other
sub-specialties. Essential Criteria includes Full Registration with the AHPRA and at least one-
year postgraduate experience.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for entry into the Western Australian Postgraduate Training in Psychiatry training
program the applicant must be able to demonstrate the following:

Essential Criteria for entry into the training programme:

One-year equivalent full time Medical Officer experience usually being completed in a
general teaching hospital. (PGY1)
Eligible for full registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation
Agency).
The ability to satisfy the Selection Panel of suitable academic record, employment history
and commitment to the training program in psychiatry.
Demonstration of good interpersonal skills and a high level of communication skills

Desirable Criteria

Clinical competence in both General Medicine and Psychological Medicine.

Ability to use proficient problem solving techniques, coping strategies and ability to
tolerate and deal effectively with stressful situations.
“C” Class Driver’s Licence
