Duties and Responsibilities of Key

Field Personnel

VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS

o Direct and coordinates operations in support of a company’s growth.

o Formulate policies and strategic plans for future growth, and managing daily

operations of personnel, purchasing, administration and other departments.

o Formulate training and incentive plans, maintaining efficient team structure

and performance through analytics, processes and tools, maximizing new

client engagement and working with the leadership team to develop plans to

meet future needs.

PROJECT DIRECTOR

o Responsible for completing engineering and construction projects by

planning, organizing and controlling all elements of the project.

o Reviews project plans and proposals, then works with management to

develop project objectives

o Study product design, customer requirements performance standards, then

determines project specifications.

o Reviews contractor bids; interviews and assigns personnel to specific phases

and elements of the project.

o Prepares status reports and regularly monitors budgets, contractors and

schedules. Allocates project resources appropriately; approves expenditures;

employee contractor contracts.

o Present procedures, rules and regulations to those involved in the project;

maintains a safe, clean and productive environment through enforcing

procedures.

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

o Responsible for accomplishing human resource objectives by recruiting,

selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling,

and disciplining employees.

o Achieve operational objectives by contributing information and

recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing

action plans.

o Responsible for meeting financial objectives by forecasting requirements,

preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances,

and initiating corrective actions.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

o Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and work timetables.

o Interpret and explainin contracts and technical information to other

professionals.

o Responsible for reporting work progress and budget matters to clients.

o Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction specialists.

o Responisble for selecting, scheduling, and coordinating subcontractor

activities.

o Responsible for responding to work delays, emergencies, and other

problems.

o Comply with legal requirements, building and safety codes, and other

regulations.

ENGINEERING MANAGER

o Responsible for confering with management, production, and marketing

staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.

o Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals

and directing the integration of technical activities.

o Responsible for analyzing technology, resource needs, and market demand,

to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.

o Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of

facilities and equipment.

o Responsible for directing, reviewing, and approving product design and

changes.

o Recruit employees; assigning, directing, and evaluating their work; and

oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.

o Responsible for preparing budgets, bids, and contracts, and direct the

negotiation of research contracts.

o Responsible for developing and implementing policies, standards and

procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the

department, service, laboratory or firm.

 COST ENGINEER

o Responsible for assessing risks

o Responsible for doing cost estimates

o Responsible for forecasting

o Responsible for reviewing proposed schedules

o Responsible for implementing bets practices

 OFFICE ENGINEER/DOCUMENTATION

o Review contract and specifications in its entirety.

o Assist Project Manager, Project Superintendent and Project Engineer

as required.

o Assist with all schedule preparations and updates.

o Assist with quantity reporting, project costs and forecasting.

o Obtain pricing from subcontractors and vendors to include charge

orders.

o Requisition equipment and material deliveries as required.

o Coordinates with subcontractors, suppliers and workforce to resolve

project challenges and conflicts.

 QUANTITY SURVEYOR

o Responsible for preparing tender and contract documents, including

bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.

o Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.

o Assist in establishing a client's requirements and undertake feasibility

studies.

o Perform risk, value management and cost control.

o Responsible for advising on a procurement strategy.

o Responsible for identifying, analyzing and developing responses to

commercial risks.

o Prepare and analyze costings for tenders.

o Responsible for allocating work to subcontractors.

o Provide advice on contractual claims.

 SCHEDULER

o Generates forecasts, variance reports, and other documentation used to

monitor and manage projects.

o Researches and reports on economic, legal, and other factors that may

impact project success.

o Evaluates current procedures and recommends changes to improve the

efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects and the reduction of

issues due to scheduling errors.

o Understands and utilizes standard planning and scheduling

methodologies and tools.

o Prepares plans and schedules for small and routine projects.

QUALITY ASSURANCE/CONTROL HEAD

o Responsible for determining, negotiating and agreeing on in-house quality

procedures, standards and specifications.

o Assess customer requirements and ensuring that these are met.

o Specify quality requirements of raw materials with suppliers.

o Responsible for investigating and setting standards for quality and health

and safety.

o Works with operating staff to establish procedures, standards, systems and

procedures.

o Act as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance and quality.

o Responsible for monitoring performance.

o Supervise technical or laboratory staff.

 WAREHOUSEMAN

o Responsible for processing orders.

o Responsible for liaising with customers and other departments.

o Ensure that quality objectives and delivery deadlines are met.

o Responsible for administering stock control.

 WAREHOUSE AIDE

o Responsible for assisting the warehouseman in doing their duties.

 TIMEKEEPER

o Compiles employees' time and production records.

o Reviews timesheets, workcharts, and timecards for completeness.

o Computes total time worked by employees, posts time worked to

master timesheet, and routes timesheet to payroll department.

o Calculate time worked and units produced by piece-work or bonus

work employees.

o Responsible for interviewing employees to discuss hours worked and

pay adjustments to be made.

 SPOT CHECKER

o Responsible for locating workers on jobs at various times to verify

attendance of workers listed on daily spot sheet.

SAFETY OFFICERS

o Supporting the development of OHS policies and programs.

o Advising and instructing on various safety-related topics.

o Conducting risk assessment and enforcing preventative measures.

PROJECT NURSES

o Manage the incident and ensure the continuing safety of themselves,

bystanders and the casualty.

o Assess casualties and find out the nature & cause of their injuries.

o Arrange for further medical help or other emergency services to attend.

o Provide appropriate first aid treatment as trained.

o Provide a handover when further medical help arrives.

o Fill out any paperwork as required.

PROJECT-IN-CHARGE

o Coordinating internal resources and vendors for the flawless execution of

projects.

o Ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within

budget.

o Comply with Government Regulations and project safety rules.

o Ensure resources are adequate for the task required.

o Implement plans in the construction. Develop contacts with senior staff,

directors, and other influential staff.

REBAR ENGINEERS

o Responsible for managing the installation of reinforcements.

o Performs inspection and checking by comparing the number and sizes of

reinforcement in the structural design to the reinforcement used in the actual

construction.

o Responsible in maintaining the spacing between reinforcements.

FORMWORKS ENGINEERS

o Responsible for checking and managing the installation of formworks.

o Performs inspection of the installed formworks before concrete pouring.

CONCRETE ENGINEERS

o Responsible in conducting the plumb line test.

o Responsible for the concrete pouring.

o Conducts inspection and checking on concrete if it passed the required

strength.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

o Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by

designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of

electricity and materials.

o Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing

methods; testing properties.

o Develops electrical products by studying customer requirements; researching

and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.

o Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment

for building and assembling electrical components; soliciting observations

from operators.

o Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing

finished products and system capabilities.

MECHANICAL ENGIEER

o Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by

designing and conducting research programs; applying principles of

mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.

o Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing

methods; testing properties.

o Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment

for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.

o Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing

finished- product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly,

and installation processes.

PLUMBING/SANITARY ENGINEER

o Design and lay out engineering drawings within Plumbing specialty.

o Complete Plumbing calculations including water supply, storm, and

equipment sizes.

o Design Plumbing systems including sanitary waste, vent, storm, domestic

water distribution systems, and purified water systems.

o Design medical gas systems, compressed air, vacuum, and natural gas

systems.

o Designs, selects, schedules, sizes and specifies basic Plumbing system

components to include plumbing fixtures, drains, and equipment.

FIRE PROTECTION ENGINEER

o Create methods dealing with fire prevention.

o Inspect buildings and homes for dangerous fire hazards.

o Suggest ways to minimize dangers.

o Plan changes in older buildings to make them safer.

o Study dangerous processes or materials and create safety measures for

handling them.

o Teach workers and managers how to handle fires and best ways to escape.

LINEATRADE SURVEYOR

o Responsible for determining the horizontal and vertical alignments of a

building layout by using engineering instruments and techniques.

INSTRUMENT MAN

o Responsible for performing surveying duties in the site.

EQUIPMENT DEPARTMENT MANAGER

o Monitors and tracks equipment on a daily basis by job site, type and use.

o Maintains a dispatch board or log sheet.

o Prepares purchase orders for rental equipment; tracks each piece of rented

equipment by job site and job number.

o Coordinates repairs and maintenance with mechanics; generates purchase

orders for repairs or required maintenance.

TECHNICIAN

o Responsible for surveying buildings and repair mechanical systems.

o Performing maintenance of electrical systems.

o Assisting in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems.

ELECTRICIAN

o Executing plans of electrical wiring for well functioning lighting, intercom

and other electrical systems.
