Subject: F101 Error - Recovery Procedure

Overview
The recovery procedure for an F101 error code is provided.

Detail
The following information is provided to assist with recovering from an F101 error. This
information will be included in the next revision of the Service Manuals for these models.

Upon completion of updating the machine’s firmware, you must restart the equipment in the 08
mode (Refer to Section 11. “Firmware Updating” in the Service Manual) and wait for the machine
to display the “Enter Service Password” screen. During this time, the machine is rebuilding the
database. Therefore, this process may take up to 10 minutes depending on the firmware build.

Note: If this process is not performed or is interrupted and not allowed to complete, an
F101 error may occur and prevent the HDD from functioning correctly.
