To obtain the Health Information Management Manager position utilizing my skills, training and
experience. Currently attending Community College to get an associate degree in HIIT; to polish

WORK EXPERIENCE

Howard County General Hospital-Health Information Management


H.I.M Supervisor-(2016-Present)
 Supervise and coordinates daily activities of the Health Information Clerks and Release of
Information staff; monitors productivity and quality standards; reassigns duties to meet the
priorities and deadlines of the department. Maintained ongoing communication with the
H.I.M. Director to review programs, evaluate workflow, provided feedback, discuss new
developments, recommended changes, and exchanged information. Assist physicians and
other customers with questions regarding access to health information, according to the
organization's guidelines. Provided support to HIM Director in identifying physicians to be
placed on weekly suspension. Work closely with the Medical Staff office regarding pending
medical records before announcing provider’s resignations. Perform quality audits in areas
of responsibility, ensuring quality and performance standards are met according to
established goals; prepares reports for Director by assigned deadline (quarterly minimum).

Howard County General Hospital – Health Information Management


H.I.M. Senior Documentation Analyst (2009-2016)

● Provided technical support to clerical staff and physicians for chart deficiencies, scanning
and indexing functions. Reported issues to EPIC, On-Base or M-Modal (Transcription) l to
ensure quality and compliance with departmental policies and standards. Ran, modified
and reviewed reports used in monthly audits, RAC requests, and for quality assurance as
needed for analysis, scanning, and indexing sections, using EPIC. Identified, collected and
analyzed all health information data to ensure the quality and accuracy of documentation
in the medical record, assisted coders and physicians when necessary.

Assembly and Analysis Clerk (2008- 2009)

● Prompt receipt and entry of the record into the system after discharge from inpatient status
or conclusion of ambulatory care.
● Verification checked (review each document for presence and correctness of patient
identification and proper unit number assignment).
● Initial reviewed for completeness. Determined that all entries are authentic and
documentation is appropriate to the particular visit of care.
● Performed detailed analysis of the record to determine chart deficiencies.

H.I.M. Assistant (2007-08)

● Processed all requests for medical record retrieval from the file area.
● Filed of new records and refiled of continuing records. Work involved terminal digit filing.
● Processed all incoming reports needing filing in the medical records.
● Picked up records throughout the facility after a patient’s discharge or visit.

● Retrieved all medical records (Inpatient/Outpatient, Emergency, Ambulatory Surgery, and
Endoscopy) following a patient’s encounter.
