Goal 1: Professional
Knowledge
To improve my assessment,
reporting and use of curriculum
to design appropriate and
effective lesson plans.
Standard 2 – Know the content
and how to teach it.

I have chosen this goal as I
need to focus on strengthening
my ability to assess and use
curriculum more effectively as a
tool to help guide and shape my
lesson planning and learning
sequences.
Goal 2: Professional Practice
To demonstrate a range of
verbal and non-verbal
communication strategies to
support student engagement.
Standard 3 – Plan for and
implement effective teaching
and learning.
Standard 3.5 – Use effective
classroom communication.
I have chosen this goal as I wish
to broaden my range of different
verbal and non-verbal
communication strategies as I
tend to use the same ones and
it can become ineffective.

To demonstrate an
understanding of the rationale
for continued professional
learning and the implications for
improved student learning.
