bolts used in the system must meet metric grade M8.8 or more. No fasteners used should
be less than 8.8 metric.
C.1.16: Firewall
It should be made in such a manner that driver’s body parts are not affected by the
engine heat/fire at any time during the dynamic/static condition. There should be
minimum 2 inch clearance between the firewall and the engine head extremity. Minimum
thickness of firewall must be 1 mm.
C.1.19: Battery
The placement of battery must be far enough from heat generated by engine. It must be
made up of rigid material and should restrict battery motion in any direction. The foam or
rubber must be inserted between battery base and battery mount. The battery terminals
must be insulated and should not touch any metallic part. The use of auxiliary batteries is
prohibited once a car has moved to the starting line of any event. Teams can replace
battery only in the pits.
Steering System
The steering system must have positive steering stops that prevent the steering linkages from
locking up either in RH or LH turning (the inversion of a four-bar linkage at one of the pivots).
Allowable total steering system free play (inclusive of play in all the steering linkages) is limited
to 7 degrees, measured at the steering wheel.
The steering wheel must be connected to steering column by fasteners only. Welding of
steering wheel to steering column is strictly prohibited.
Braking System
The brake system installed must be capable of stopping the vehicle in a straight line without
losing control during the brake test.
Electronic braking or wire operated braking systems are strictly prohibited. There should be no
leakage from the master cylinder or reservoir.
The bleeding point should be at upper most side of calliper.
The master cylinder must be inside the pedal box means it must be behind pedal box when
viewing from front side of kart.
C.2: Engine
Single Cylinder, Four Stroke, Air-cooled, Petrol/Gasoline with Maximum Capacity -
130cc (Engine Registration is mandatory). Energy boosting devices/hybrid systems are
strictly prohibited. Teams are free to modify/tune the engine but it must not affect the
maximum power and maximum capacity mentioned above. Positive lock must be
provided with the throttle pedal. Every vehicle must be equipped with proper chain guard.
It should restrict accidental contact of any person standing outside. It should be mounted
properly, any unusual sound is not acceptable.
Engine Tuning: Teams can tune their engine or add innovations but there are some
restrictions which every team must keep in mind while adding any innovation- Prohibited
tuning or modifications are:
C 2.1 Electric start: The vehicle must be electric start either by a push button or by key.
The vehicles not having the electric start system will be not be passed in the technical
inspection.
C.3.2: Helmet
Open faced helmets are not allowed. Team must have well-fitting closed face helmet that
meets one of the following certifications and is labeled as such -Snell K2000, K2005,
K2010, M2000, M2005, M2010, SA2000, SA2005, SA2010, SFI 31.2A, SFI 31.1/2005,
FIA 8860-2004, FIA 8860-2010, ISI/BSI rated.
C.3.4: Balaclava
It should cover the driver’s head, hair and neck and strictly made up of fire resistant
material.
C.3.5: Gloves
Gloves must made up of leather with extra foam are acceptable.
C.3.6: Shoes
It must be Fire resistant shoes. Boots must cover and protect ankles too. Recommended
standers are: SFI 3.3, FIA 8856-2000.
C.3.7: Socks
It must be Fire resistant shoes and Covers the skin between the driver’s suit and the
boots or shoes.
Each team must have unique logo of their team on vehicle. Teams are required to have
a team name with an impressive logo along with the college logo which is to be placed
on the vehicle’s body.
Kart Number: There are chances of getting low lights during the race, so for better
visibility, it is mandatory to stick kart number in black font colour having height exactly 5
inch at front, rear and both side of kart in yellow background only.
The late submission or failure to submission of design report, cost report, Technical
Inspection Sheet, calculation report, design presentation and indemnity bond will lead to 50
points standard penalty. If you submit design report late(after the predefined date and time),
you will be applied with a 50 points penalty.
Inspection sticker- The teams who have cleared technical inspection will get sticker on
kart which will also be used in further dynamic events for noting down timing of each event
on it.

D.4.2: Design Evolution
The vehicle will be verified with the design report and not even a single alteration would be
entertained in the vehicle from the design report.
Each vehicle will be given only 2 attempts to pass the brake test. A third attempt will be
given to you for relaxation but the acceleration points given will be zero.
Vehicle dynamic stability will also be checked during the test, vehicle possessing abnormal
behavior will be checked again. The TI can be cancelled if the vehicle is found dynamically
unstable or unsafe in the Brake Test. Few frequently occurred problems are listed below:
Un-usual sound from transmission (generally sound produced by chain).
Unsafe frame (Design and manufacturing)
If these issues found with the vehicle after static inspection, vehicle Technical Inspection
will be cancelled and again will be given chance to rectify it.
Note: Brake Test Track: The brake test will be conducted on 23m straight course of
track. Vehicle’s speed must not be less than 40km/hr. while attempting brake test. Brake
Test is not having any points, but it’s mandatory for a vehicle to clear the test to qualify for
any of the dynamic event.
Penalties:
Cones Down or Out- A penalty of 2 second will be added to the time for every cone
that is hit or knocked down (including gate cones).
DNF- Vehicles that spin-out can continue as long as they have not gone off course will
be classified as DNF.
D.5.4: Autocross
The objective of the autocross event is to evaluate the vehicle's maneuverability and
handling qualities on a tight course without the hindrance of competing vehicles. The
autocross course will combine the performance features of acceleration, braking, and
cornering into one event. Only single attempt is there for Autocross.
Penalties:
Cones Down or out - Two (2) seconds per cone, including any after the finish line.
Missed Slalom- Missing one or more gates of a given slalom will be counted as one
"off-course" per occurrence. Each occurrence will incur a twenty (20) point penalty.
D.5.6: Endurance
The Endurance Event is designed to evaluate the overall performance of the vehicle and
to test the vehicle’s reliability. If a vehicle breaks down it will be removed from the course
and will be allowed to re-enter the course after repair or fixing it. If a vehicle stalls, or
ingests a cone, etc., it will be allowed to restart and re-enter the course where it went off. If
a car stalls and cannot be restarted without external assistance, the track workers will
push the car clear of the track. At the discretion of event officials, two (2) team members
may retrieve the car under direction of the track workers.
Penalties:
Failure to obey a flag: 10 points
Over Driving (After a closed black flag): 10 points
Vehicle to Vehicle contact: DISQUALIFIED
Mechanical Problem- No additional penalty other than the time lost to ensure that the
car is safe to continue.
Reckless or Aggressive Driving- Any reckless or aggressive driving behavior (such as
forcing another car off the track, refusal to allow passing, or close driving that would
cause the likelihood of car contact) will result in a black flag for that driver. When a
driver receives a black flag signal, he must proceed to the penalty box to listen to a
reprimand for his driving behavior. The amount of time spent in the penalty box will
vary from one (1) to four (4) minutes depending upon the severity of the offense.
Flags
The flags are the instructions expelled by organizer during the dynamic event and each driver
must obey flags.
Black flag- Pull into the penalty box for discussion with the race controller or other official
concerning an incident. A time penalty may be assessed for such incident.
Checker flag - Your session has been completed. Exit the course at the first opportunity.
Green flag - Your session has started, enter the course under direction of the starter.
Yellow flag - Danger, SLOW DOWN, be prepared to a slow down, something has happened
beyond the flag station. NO PASSING unless directed by the coordinators.
The rules will be same throughout the event and any amendments will immediately be made
known to all the participating teams through emails and the same will be uploaded on the
website.
By registering for this event the team, members of the team as individuals, faculty advisors
and other personnel of the college and university agree to comply with, and be bound by,
these rules and all rule interpretations. All team members, faculty advisors and other
university representatives are required to cooperate with, and follow all instructions from,
competition organizers, officials and judges.
E.2: Behaviors
In the event of unsportsmanlike conduct, the team will receive a warning from an official. A
second violation will result in expulsion of the team from the competition. Failure of a team
member to follow an instruction or command directed specifically to that team or team
member will result in a twenty five (25) point penalty.
Organizers have the right to modify the penalties listed in the various dynamic event
descriptions to better reflect the design of their event courses, the course lengths or any
special conditions unique to the site. The standard dynamic event penalties in these rules
are default values that will be applied unless there is a change by the organizer.
