COMMUNITY OUTREACH SKILLS or HUMANITARIAN TASKS

 Experience acquired from workplace as focal person and secretary of the stirring committee for
community outreach projects aimed at poverty eradication e.g. vegetable gardening and house
projects.
 Experience acquired from church outreach activities, by reaching out to marginalized and
vulnerable people in the community and help them in their immediate needs e.g. share gospel
of hope, faith and demonstrate love, provide food, clothes and shelter
COLLABORATION SKILLS or MANAGING PEOPLE AND TASKS

 I value good inter-personal relationship because it is foundational step to collaboration skills and
professionalism. I respect individual differences because they make us unique and enhance our
ability to maximize each other e.g. my past work experience as secretary, were through
discussions of critical and sensitive issues during meetings and through running workshops.
 I enjoy working independently with minimal supervision, but I also embrace “teamwork” spirit
because we learn from each other as a focus group or task force. As a team, we build, grow and
empower each other e.g. my workplace experience included working as a team of different
professionals for donor funded projects, reporting sessions and on regional trips for
infrastructure monitoring and ARV drugs roll out.
 My work and personal experiences included collaboration with Government stakeholders and
non-profit organizations, private sectors, research institutions and my personal family life
changing and stressful experiences.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND PUBLIC SPEAKING

 Academic experience: As a student, I have realized my potential of good communication skills

and public speaking through participation in seminar discussions, seminar presentations,
research work and through volunteerism on-campus and off-campus.
 Workplace experience: Confidence and skills empowerment on communication skills and public
speaking was a gradual process through facilitating in wellness workshops, coordinating health
talks and donor funded projects seminars.
 Opportunities of guest hosting VIP: Very Important Persons like diplomats, made me realize my
worth and potential in communication skills through listening, oral speaking, eye contact, body
language, gestures, patience and overall behavior conduct e.g. I participated as Protocol Officer
for Local Government Conference 2010 VIP officials held at Botswana, Africa and has always
been memorable to me.
 Communication skills, public speaking and collaboration skills helps prepare one for leadership
positions. It is a stepping stone for higher responsibility and bigger roles.
