Recently,  fifth  and  sixth  graders  had  the  chance

to  meet  their  AR  goals.  The  students  worked  hard

and  received  a  spectacular  reward:  roller  skating  at
Trout  Pond  Park.  The  event  took  place  on  February
3,  2012.
Emily  Hennigan  was  one  of  the  participants  of
the  event.  To  receive  her  AR  goal,  she  read  IRC
books  and  Dragon  Heart.  Ben  Johnson  also  made
his  AR  goal  and  exceeded  it  by  one  point.  Jake  Lusk
earned  seven  more  points  to  start  off  for  his  new
goal  which  will  end  in  late  April.  Rhiannon
Newcomer’s  new  AR  goal  is  45  points,  and  she  is
already  racking  up  more  points.
Mrs.  Flerlage  said  approximately  105  students
participated  in  the  AR  field  trip,  which  made  her
very  happy.  She  said,  “If  students  have  any  other
trip  ideas,  I  would  LOVE  to  hear  them.  You  all  work
very  hard  and  deserve  a  fun  day!”  She  proclaimed,
“The  skate  rental  was  $2.00,  busses  were  more  than
$2.00  each,  and  105  students  reading….
PRICELESS!”
We  strongly  encourage  that  you  read  more
books  and  take  more  AR  tests  these  last  months  of
school.  The  more  you  read,  the  smarter  you’ll  get!
