IIFT FORM

PART A

Q-What professional achievement are you aspiring in short and long run?

ANS-While pursuing engineering, I realized the importance of pairing my analytical skills with another skill set to manage time and
resources. To me it seems natural to pursue a course in management so that I turn out to be a more productive individual. In the
long run, I would want myself to be in decision making positions where I can create opportunities not only for myself but also for
the people associated with me.

Q-How do you consider yourself suitable for a career in Management?

ANS- I served as the Co-ordinator of my College and worked in a team of about 25 people and leading 20.This helped me explore
qualities like leadership, team work ,delegation of work as well as crisis management in my character. The study of subjects like
engineering economics and industrial management further increased my interests towards the managerial section of studies.
Moreover I’ll get to know and interact with colleagues, professors and teaching staff with great management experience in a
context that accentuates my business management capabilities.

Q-Give an example of a creative piece of work or innovation you have worked on or any start-up you have been
involved with.

ANS-I participated in an event “Techkriti Innovation Challenge” at IIT-Kanpur in which I worked on a project “body heat powered
charging device”. It used thermoelectric effect to generate electric current using the heat emitted by human body which can be
used to charge small electronic devices.

Q-Describe with an example, the meaning of ‘Critical Thinking’ and how it is important for Business.

ANS- As a part of the responsibility of event planning for the robotics club, we had planned for an event but due to certain technical
incompetency we reached at the verge of scrapping it off which would have hampered our image as an organizing team, but finally
I came up with an idea to transform it into a separate gaming spot during the fest that attracted a whole lot of participants due to
its on-the-spot registration factor. This incident helped me explore personality traits of idea generation and creativity which rest on
the foundation of critical thinking.

PART B

Q-Describe how you organize yourself for a typical day.

ANS-I am in the final year of my B tech. In order to manage my project work, assignments, academic subjects as well preparation
for MBA entrance exams along with keeping some time for my hobby of reading I try and prioritize things and assign time to each
of the tasks in hand .At the beginning of each week I review my calendar and outline the key things I need to accomplish. Then I
set up reminders, blocks of time, and to do lists so I have clear steps and time allocated to meet those goals. Of course, not
everything can be planned and when things come up last minute, I make sure I can adjust quickly and respond to those priorities
as well.

Q-Describe a situation when you had too many things to do and had to prioritize.

ANS- I was the coordinator of Technical Fest at my college and at the same time I had my semester exams approaching. I also had
to appear for my TCS Summer Internship selection test at the same time I was also preparing for my MBA entrance exams.
Keeping the work at hand as my highest priority I devoted the time till evening to organizing, planning and promotion of events and
then utilized the hours before sleep and woke early morning to keep up with my studies and preparation.

Q-Describe an incident in your life that has changed your perspective/outlook towards life.

ANS-I met with a fatal accident during my childhood days. This event made me realize the importance of each passing moment we
are gifted with. Since then I have always strived to make each moment count and play my part in adding moments of happiness
around me. I also realized the fact that what is meant to be will be and life takes you to the best avenues and thus the only part

college. There I got chance to coordinate the technical fest which had about 300+ participants from various colleges. We worked in
a team of 25 and I lead 20 of them. My responsibilities were event planning ,organization, promotion, financial management, and
prize distribution. This opportunity instilled in me qualities like leadership, organising skills, delegation of work, working in a team
and crisis management.

Q-Describe a difficult situation when you encountered a conflict with a senior /team member/colleague.

ANS- During my graduation, I was aspiring to work on a VHDL project that was a completely new platform and my team member
was not that convinced for taking it up. She wanted to do a project on embedded systems as we had prior knowledge on it. Then, I
took up the responsibility to work on the basics and help her to develop the code seeking her help for the logical part. In this
manner I managed to resolve the conflict and convinced her to work on my proposed idea .

Q-Any other information that you have not pointed out before and that you consider may be relevant.

ANS- I am an avid reader which has greatly helped me enhance my knowledge as well as an understanding of the world. I have
read books like “A Thousand Splendid Suns” and “The Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini and” And Then There were None” by Agatha
Christie. I have been an active learner which facilitated me to pursue my passion for various sections of automation and robotics
and also finally choosing a b tech project that was on an entirely different platform i.e. VHDL.
